I'm not sure if this has been discussed before. For some reason KSLC and ONLY KSLC shows no buildings and all the taxiway signs are in the middle of the taxiways. Any thoughts?...
I did previously have the KSLC add on scenery recommended by the DVA academy manual, but after some serious issues (not related) I uninstalled and re-installed the FSX and all my other add ons, now I only add on if I have a disk...I dont download stuff(aside from fleet acft and acars) or mess with config files. Whatever the problem was before FSX would crash back to desktop before even getting to the title screen/ thats why I did the re-install.

The KSLC airport scenery software recommended by the Flight Academy is Gary Widup's scenery which was developed in WinXP for FS2004 and FSX. If you have Win7 then you need to be sure to install this software with administrator priveleges to allow it to put data in the correct directory. I always recommend that pilots install this scenery and any of our DVA fleet aircraft take the precaution of disabling their antivirus software to allow the information to go into the correct directories. After the install, reactivate your antivirus softwares. Hope this works.

For FSX i recommend Utah Complete by James Udall on Flight sim .com. very good SLC scenery.

the only time ive ever noticed the issues you are haveing is when rebuilding the scenary database without exiting to the FSX main menue.

what is the exact file name to get rid of the Gary Widup file...If its in the wrong spot, I can remove it and put the default back at least. Timothy, the airport is like that all the time. its been around a year since I did the reinstall, I just kept forgeting to say something about it.

what i can sudgest is remove any scenery for the SLC area and go back to default.. make shure you check the add-on scenery folders as well as the scenery sub folder in the FSX directory. ive seen add-on scenery installed there to. it shoulten be most of thoue files should never be touched.

sounds like the problem you had before was add-ons conflicting. just a quick check when you un installed FSX, Did you go to its directroy after the uninstall and dlete everything. the uninstaller only deltes the files that it installs. so if you dont go back and dlete the add-on files manually. they may still be there if you reinstall to the same path
