Looking to get trac IR, I went to the website, did some homework. I'm looking for help in dumbing it down for me.
whats the major advantages/disadvantages of 5 over 4
why does the head clip package cost so much more, whats the advantage
any help or reviews in plain speak will help me immensely
thank you

TrackIR follows your head movements, using just a little motion to move the view across the screen the entire way. If I move my head about an inch to either left/right or up/down, I can view the whole cockpit. This helps immensely on the ground to look for traffic, and in the air on final approaches, when I can view the runway out the side windows to better align myself. I can't speak for the headset mount. I just taped the included receiver to a hat and it works fine. While my headset did work, I just wore the hat under the headset.

I don't know the differences between 4 and 5, but I know the headset clip didn't work very well for me either. The hat clip is the way to go.

I thin 5 has a little wider view angle so you are more free to move.

I've only had version 5 of TIR, so no comparison, sorry. The pro clip mounts onto headphones and connects back to the TIR USB plug. I zip tied that cord to the headset cord and it stays out of the way nicely. The only problem I had with my TIR5 headset clip was that it wouldn't stay closed once mounted. It uses a snap that is just a little too small to hold tight over the headset and would pop open, thus allowing the clip to fall off. I used small zip ties to secure it into place and haven't had a problem since. I do prefer the headset clip over the cap clip being one less thing to mess with and cooler for my head. Hope this helps.
Cheers!!
