Wondering if anyone has ever had this issue, I can see the terminals and buildings at airports and it cities as long as I'm flying during the day and it stays daylight, also if I start FSX and it's dark and stays dark. But if I'm sitting at an airport in front of a terminal and it get's around dusk and the sun is starting to go down, the terminals and all buildings disappear right in front of me. And if I take off from an airport during the daytime, but land at night, there are no buildings anywhere. I have searched for a couple weeks because I have been flying FSX since it came out, never had this problem before, it's wierd cuz my dad flies online with me and he's never had that problem either until about a month ago both of us started getting that prob at the same time. I know it has nothing to do with graphics cards, or memory or anything because as I said, it is only if it turns dark while FSX is running. If I change it back to daytime buildings are back, back to night they are gone. Restart FSX and load up at night and fly at night the entire flight they are there. Need some help please, neither one of us can figure this out.
-Thanks guys.

I switched to FSX the day it was released, as well, and i can honestly say i've never, ever, heard of anything like that before.
So if load your first flight at daytime the buildings are there and then change the time to night, they disappear. But if you shutdown FSX then load your first flight at night the buildings show up fine?
What if you start your first flight at either the dusk or dawn presets? Are the buildings there then?
Does this happen all over the place or just at specific airports? If it happens all over, are you running TileProxy?

After that happens if I switch to daytime they come back, but if I switch back to night they are gone. Happens all over. If I load during dawn or dusk they are there but disappear in a short time.

Sounds like a scenery issue. Are you using anything but the default airport?

KBOS KSLC default are two i know that do it. they fade out as the sun goes down. they are still there. at first i thought its becaues they dont have night textures but i read recently that that may not be it.

Did you and your Dad do a tweak or install an addon about the same time? I've never heard of this before and can't imagine how it would happen, but FSX is FSX...

If the buildings are still there, but transparent, then that's an issue with the alpha channel of the textures. But what confuses the crap out of me, is that it only happens during the day to night transition. If the alpha channel got messed up on the night textures somehow, i would assume the buildings would be transparent anytime the night textures were displayed...which is clearly not the case here.

No we haven't done any tweaks to FSX at all just stock FSX with SP2 and PMDG 737's. It's weird because it started happening to us both at the same time, and I got a virus and had to do a complete re-installation of windows and everything and it's still doing it.

Ive had this same thing happen as the OP said, but at complete random. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesnt.

I ve the same problem but it is not night or day related. My departure airport looks fine and when I landed i find only a blank field with the gate ports. I had this never before, it seems to appear only when flying with ACARS. But then again this is maybe only an impression since I fly DVA a lot. I tried several graphic settings within FSX, but fruitless.
I even considered to change my graphics card ( now Nvdia geforce 320 ) to a more powerfull one, but I am hesitating since it represents a big cost.
