Hey guys,
I know I'm killing you with one of these FS2004 blurries problems posts but I just upgraded my system and I don't remember what I had done before, but I'm pretty sure I didn't suffer from the blurries like I do now. I saved a lot of my fs9.cfg tweaks and put those in which helped, but not completely.
Specs:
W7 64bit
Asus P8P67-M Pro REV 3.0
intel i5-2500k @3.30Ghz
8GB DDR3 RAM
Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks for the link, but unfortunately that didn't help. I even tried mixing parts of my tweaks with that one and still nada...

Kyle, unfortunately I cannot see the image because it's blocked at work (=/), but from my experience running Tileproxy and many months of working to reduce blurries I learned a few things that perhaps can help... first, I recall that the higher FPS you have in FS9, the more clear textures are loaded. This means if you can run unlimited FPS, you can get more clear textures to load than someone caped at 35 FPS. FSX on the other hand is just the opposite. If I run unlimited FPS in FSX, the textures are always blurry when I "outrun" the boundary. If I cap at 99 FPS, they load fine. So FS9, run unlimited... FSX, cap. Second there were some fsx.cfg (fs9.cfg) tweaks out there that helped. You mentioned you have made some tweaks already, but I think they were things like TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH, LOD RADIUS, etc. If you have messed with those then that's all I got. If not, I don't have the cfg in front of me but I can look it up later if you like when I get to the house.

I didn't know about the unlimited frame trick. I'll have to give it a try, although I know from the past if I set to unlimited, the stutters come and go. Maybe setting it to unlimited and having an external program (nvidia inspector) set the frame limit?

In FS9, this works like a charm. The key is you have to leave the display settings in FS9 to unlimited, because thats how FS9 generates the textures. FSX is just the opposite... and it's a real pain because the external FPS limited makes it worse.

I tried the unlimited FPS and still have the blurries at the same distance. The only thing it did was make the small stutters occur. I don't know if it's important but I am using Ultimate Terrain USA, FSGenesis, Ground Environment, and REX. I linked a 2nd image to show how the blurries are real bad. The 3rd image is what my old system looked like, I wish I had saved my old .cfg >( The blurries go sharp once they get within like 3-4 miles but that is extremely annoying and I know this can be fixed as my old system didn't do this after the tweaks. I've googled and tried about 20 different tweak settings and combinations and still, no improvement... If you could share your fs9.cfg settings when you get the chance, that would be great!

Hi Kyle
Do you have these lines in your config
TERRAIN_DEFAULT_RADIUS=9.500000
TERRAIN_EXTENDED_RADIUS=4.50000
TERRAIN_EXTENDED_LEVELS=4
TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULTI=400

Here is what I've got right now for my Terrain section:
[TERRAIN]
TERRAIN_ERROR_FACTOR=100.000000
TERRAIN_MIN_DEM_AREA=100.000000
TERRAIN_MAX_DEM_AREA=400.000000
TERRAIN_MAX_VERTEX_LEVEL=21
TERRAIN_TEXTURE_SIZE_EXP=8
TERRAIN_AUTOGEN_DENSITY=5
TERRAIN_USE_GRADIENT_MAP=1
TERRAIN_EXTENDED_TEXTURES=1
TERRAIN_DEFAULT_RADIUS=9.500000
TERRAIN_EXTENDED_RADIUS=4.500000
TERRAIN_EXTENDED_LEVELS=5
TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULTI=25600
I've tried so many combinations with no difference, which seems odd to me.

Hey Kyle
TERRAIN_MAX_DEM_AREA=400.000000 - I don't think anything over 100 makes a difference in which case FS will revert to default value (not sure what that is so best leave at 100)
TERRAIN_EXTENDED_LEVELS=5 - Again no effect after 4 - I think it slips back to 1 if it is outside 4.
TEXTURE_BANDWIDTH_MULT=25600 - I never went above 400 with this. This controls the rate at which textures get sent to your video card. You (and me too above) have a typo here it should be MULT not MULTI.
See if that helps
Alan

Try setting your settings to Anisotropic (spelling) not bilinear or trilinier.
