Ello all,

Part of what I love about this VA so much is that it allows us the flexibility to fly alliance routes, a feature many VA's tend to overlook. But I was wondering when the next Skyteam airline update would take place within the DVA schedule database. Airlines which have since been added to the alliance but are not included are as follows:

Aerolineas Argentinas (Additional South American routes for the network)
Kenya Airways (finally, a carrier which is based in Africa to add some nice scenic routes)
Middle East Airlines and Saudia (two new carriers for some new Middle-Eastern runs)
TAROM (can never have enough European fun)
Vietnam Airlines and Xiamen Airlines (would enhance the southeast Asian route network a bit)

Not sure if it had already been discussed or mulled over, and if it has, my apologies. I just thought that it'd be really neat to see these Skyteam affiliates included some day. Would only increase how epic this VA already is!

We fly by Delta's schedule and their codeshares. If Delta doesn't fly it, it won't be listed.

My pardons but the statement "if Delta doesn't fly it, it won't be listed" doesn't seem accurate. If that were the case, then why are we permitted to fly aircraft outside of the DAL fleet? Moreover, there are a number of flights which I can list offhand (a large number of which are in our KLM schedule alone, if you look) that are not listed as DAL codeshare flights, but are within the SkyTeam schedule.

So I bring myself to my previous statement again for kind clarification, hopefully from a staff member.

I have to agree with Justin here, Brandon. The above listed airlines are codeshare partners if you look at the Delta website it lists skyteam as part of its code share. then scroll down to skyteam and it lists all of them. http://www.delta.com/content/www/en_US/traveling-with-us/where-we-fly/flight-partners.html . Justin, I don't know, maybe the complexity of adding all of those flights to the system. Fill out a help desk ticket and see what they say.

Justin,

I suggest you create a help desk ticket for it. Instead of trying to get an answer here, where it might get lost in the multiple postings...create a ticket and it will be routed to the appropriate staff member for consideration.

Please provide sufficient proof (links and such) so the staff member doesn't have to go on a wild goose chase to find the publishing of these airlines.

Also remember (it may or may not be applicable here)...Delta VA flys codeshares, which means it needs to have a DAL flight number (8000 and above?) in the real world. For example, the real flight number may be KLM651, but DAL might also assign a number to it for codeshare sake...DAL8XXX or 9XXX.

Just because an airline is part of SkyTeam doesn't mean we fly their routes...Some SkyTeam members are solely there for passenger frequent flyer benefits.

Those airlines are part of skyteam, but DAL doesn't codeshare with them so they will not be added to the schedule.

Jay, I can see where it says that DAL is planning on codesharing. I didn't dig too deep into to find any dates, but if they have started the codeshare service, then you need to find the list of flights and information about them and make a help desk ticket to get the appropriate staff to deal with the schedule.

What I meant in my previous post, was that just because an airline is part of Skyteam, doesn't mean that Delta codeshares with them, and that even if there is a codeshare between DAL and another airline, it doesn't mean that every flight is codeshared (hence the difference in what we can fly versus AFVA can fly).

I know this is an older post but also if you want to fly some of those routes and they aren't in the system, you can always request a charter to do them as well. Just make sure the airports your wanting to fly to are already in the system and make a ticket for them.

I work at a travel agency and as far as I know, due to the Government issue, no Aerolineas Flights can have a Code Share yet. Yes, Aerolineas Argentina is in Skyteam, but not for Code Share.
