OK, I tried using ACARS today only to find that it wouldnt detect flight sim as running and the usual stuff didnt work. So then, just on a whim I uninstalled MyTrafficX and viola, ACARS and PFE work again. Then I tried installing Traffic from justflight, an old program I have never had problems with,and then my programs stopped working again. I do not understand what is happening here and have never encountered anything like this in over 6 years with FS. If someone has some insight into what may be happening here I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

Now I remember why I stopped doing this stuff a couple years ago... Far more trouble than its worth. Forget it, I'm wiping my drive clean of flight sim nonsense and calling it quits. Its a beautiful day outside, I'm going for a ride. See ya'll some other time.

I must love pain because I just spent all day re-installing all my FS stuff... If it doesnt work this time then I cant justify spending any more time on it. Wish me luck, and I submitted a request for an MD-11 checkride.

I cant speak for my traffic X, But trafficX (or any other traffic addon) should not be messing with ACARS.
You said you tried Usaul stuff wich i assum means you Made shure FSX and ACARS are running as ADMIN. And Your FSUIPC is up to date.
I know Traffic X does modify the FSX CFG file. But ACARS dosent touch that, so that should not be it.

MTX was the problem, I dont know why but after a proper uninstall of MTX everything now works fine. I re-installed Traffic 2005 and everything works fine now.
