Hello
I am planning to buy The PMDG 737NGX -800/900. My current system specs are as given below:
Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q8400 @2.66GHz 2.67 GHz
8GB RAM
Windows 7 64-Bit
NVIDIA GeForce 330M - 1,024 MB of GDDR 3 RAM
I just wanted to check if PMDG 737NGX -800/900 will perform well with my current system specs.
Thanks for your help.

How does FSX run with that set up? Honestly, I would advise against getting the NGX because that CPU speed looks extremely slow for FSX.
This is PMDG's ideal setup:
Best Performance
OS: Windows 7 64-bit
Processor: Intel Core i5 or i7 (Sandy Bridge core) or better
RAM: 4GB+
Video Card: Nvidia GTX560 Ti, 570 or 580 with 1GB+ of video memory or better

Thanks Kyle for your note. Ohh I need to upgrade my system first then plan to get NGX. That means a wait time. I will plan.
Thanks again

You could probably run the iFly on that. http://www.flight1.com/products.asp?product=iflyfsx There's a 30-day refund period if you don't like it or can't run it.

I have an i7 920 @ 2.67GHz and I get an average of 30 fps with the NGX.

A few things I'm curious about. What are your settings, any add ons besides NGX? I had a Core Duo @ 3.4Ghz and it ran FSX great... as default and medium settings. Anything I wanted to add to the sim killed it. Also, you are running an i7, a whole new level when it comes to CPU's. I'm running i5-2500k @4.5Ghz and I only average 24 with the NGX (Although the list of addons I have is huge).

Those are my settings. My Global texture resolution is very high. I don't have many scenery add-ons for FSX, my main add-ons are Active Sky Evolution and REX.

Prior to this weekend I also had a 4 year old Core i7 920 2.66GHz overclocked to 3.5GHz with 8GB RAM running FSX and the PMDG 737-800. The PMDG ran fine on my system. It was a few of the heavy duty airports that killed it and in those situations the PMDG made things just a little worse as far as frame rates.

Captain Nachiket,
I have the PMDG 737NGX on my computer (i3-2330M @ 2.20 GHz, 6GB RAM) and it runs fairly well. The NGX doesn't seem to have a big effect on Perfomance. FSX is a 32-bit program, so anything more than 4GB of RAM doesn't do anything for you.
Good Luck! I heartily recommend the NGX. I love mine! Jakob

You should read this: http://kostasfsworld.wordpress.com/fsx-software-and-hardware-guide/ and if you have a nVidia card, this: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/324786-nvidia-configuration-guide-inspector-2xxxx-drivers-version-20-explanations-of-all-settings/ (you need an avsim account to read this, and it is a post from a PDMG dev team).
I have applied both and I get 30fps all the time in very high resolution. I do have a nice setup though.
