	I just purchased a new Dell Inspiron 17R SE that came with win 8 (i5 quad core intel processor, 8GB DDR3 RAM, 750GB HD, with NVIDIA Gforce graphics). I insert disk one and run the installation, but it stops at 24% and reads along the lines of .. disk error.. program files>microsoft games>flight simulator 9>FSweb>learning... kwiktipusingthemouse.WMV -then- "make sure your hard disk is not full, and that the file is not in use". I know there's gotta be a way to fix this and continue on with the installation. Never had this problem before and one of the primary reasons I bought this computer was to run FS9 on. Very irritated, any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

	I dont use W8, but did you try installing as administrator? That line "FSweb>learning... kwiktipusingthemouse.WMV" sounds like something that runs directed by W8. As a FS Gamer (and other games), I'm sticking with W7.

	I would much rather use, like Andrew has said, Windows 7 or Windows XP to run FS-if you can run a seperate hard drive, run the hd with W7 or XP and keep your fs stuff on that disk- or partition the drive you have and when asked what os to boot to, select W7 or Windows XP-that should solve your problem. Your file location should not be stopping at a .wmv extension-this I haven't seen on W7 or XP-as Andrew has said, seems to be unique to W8.

	Fixed the problem. I had found a second, much older copy of fs9 and tried the installation with that copy and everything went fine. FS9 runs just as it did when I had win7. Squawkbox works fine with it too and I have yet to find any bugs, if any (besides a/c not showing up in the main menu on display, but big deal).
