I have several times asked about a new system that I wanted to upgrade to. Now i must ask again as time has gone by and didn't do anything about my computer. My asus computer blew a mother board and i now need another computer. I had 750 gigs hd and 8 gigs of ram with a nvidia 220 video card. I don't want to go over 1500 dollars so I would like some help. I fly with fs9 and don't like fsx. Can someone help me and I promise I won't post again about a computer. thanks guys.

$1,500 and FS9? You should be able to spend $700 and spend the rest on aircraft, scenery, and Reeses Peanut Butter Cups at the checkout register.

There have been a few ongoing threads lately on systems if you'd like to search for those. Otherwise I'm sure one of the guys will jump in and point you there or give you a good bill of materials.

I just built a 3rd generation Intel core i7 3770k system with 16GB RAM, GeForce 660Ti video, 3TB SATA, Corsair liquid cooling, memory, & case. About $1,100 after rebates.

Ralph, I have found that Frys has some good gaming computers at their stores. If you are like me and don't know much about building a computer try there stores. I see you live in metro Atlanta and they have a few locations. I bought a Gateway about two or three years ago for about $1300 that runs Fs9 maxed out and over 100 frames at most times. I would definitely recommend an NVIDIA GTI660 video card. I recently put one of those and couldn't believe the improvement. Basically anything with a fast processor and a good video card will do the trick. They all come with tons of memory now

Thank you Jason and Mark. I do appreciate the imput. i should be back up and running in about a week. My harddrive on my old system is still intact, so I can transfer all my data into my new system and still have my stuff. I feel nakid without my computer. my roommate hooked this system up for me to get on line with....... 500 gig hd 2gig of ram and slow. lock up to the max. i want to scream............ahahahahahahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

I would strongly recommend staying away from anything pre-built; build it yourself or have someone build it for you. FS9 doesn't take much performance wise, I would go with a 3570k or a 4670k on the CPU and a low/mid range NVidia GPU (650ti or a 660/760). I do build and ship PCs if you aren't comfortable or don't have the time to build it yourself; just let me know and I can start getting a parts list together for you.
