Hey guys!

My birthday is in 2 days (the 25th) and im thinking its time to drop some dollars on a new plane seeing as i have been flying a lot of my currently owned ones. As its once a year, money is no object i dont care if its 20 dollars or 200, i just want a good plane. Im looking for something fresh and new to start with. The planes i currently own and operate through my sim are the:

- PMDG 737 NGX
- PMDG 747 X
- Level D 767
- PMDG MD-11
- Captain Sim 757
- Aerosoft Airbus X

Im not interested in Boeing much anymore, its too easy at this point and i feel like the NGX, 747, and T7 (captain sim) are all exactly the same in terms of FMC and procedure so im getting kinda bored of them. Im also looked for something detailed, nothing along the lines of the wilco products (been there, done that).

Im fine with anything really, regional to domestic to long haul. My current thoughts were:

- Leonardo Maddog
- PMDG J41
- Captain sim 727
- Concorde X (i fear this plane a bit...)
- Any A330 (quality please)

Anything of the above with good quality and realism, or any other recommendations that you guys feel are fun to fly but also complex and challenging.

Hope everyone is enjoying the summer!!!

- Chris

if your looking for a change of pace. try the carenado planes. the BE200 kingair is awesome. not to mention thire smaller planes. plus a multitude of smaller GA aircraft. free ware and payware and even default are fun to fly (the GA ones)

Every now and then its good to get back to the basics. And flying aircraft like the BE200 or even some other GA aircraft properly is a challenge all its own.

I would say the NGX. Especially with Delta's 737 route network.

+1 ... or the PMDG J41 ... you seem to be flying a lot of jetliners atm, you may enjoy the differences of some turboprop flying! I thoroughly enjoy flying both the DH8D and the J41. When I do make my way back to them after long stints of jetliners I'm reminded how responsive they are to hand-flying and how it can be a treat to be flying a bit closer to the ground.

Rightly so, but through challenge comes accomplishment. You will have a very rewarding feeling if you put the time into learning how to fly this aircraft by the numbers. Time being the key word in my previous statement!

....if the boeing is getting too easy or just plain boring, then why not go with the one you fear the most and get the Concord? I guess it will be a great challenge, plus you'll have a year to master the aircraft. Any way you go have a great birthday tomorrow! rimshot

Hey everyone!!!

Thanks for all the birthday wishes and suggestions!!!

I went ahead and got myself the Leonardo Maddog and the PMDG JS4100. You can all bet your bottom dollar that i will have the PMDG T7 the minute its released and the majestic Q400 will have to be another time, maybe christmas, its pretty expensive!

My parents also (out of nowhere) surprised me and got the GoFlight TQ-6 Advanced Throttles with the reverser levers!!! craziest birthday yet!!!

If anyone has any tips or suggestions for the maddog and J41 LET ME HEAR EM!! haha.

Cheers - Chris

What is sad is that Murphy's law will prevail here. If you buy one of those wonderful addons, You will inevitable get a flyer in your email box stating there having a sale as such for like 3 for 1. Be patient before you buy you may just get a deal of a lifetime. Happy birthday.

iFly has surpassed PMDG on performance as well as realism, so if you want a good 737NG for FSX, I highly recommend it.

I don't own the iFly myself so I'm now curious why you would make this statement. Almost everyone says the PMDG 737NGX is the best add-on aircraft available. Of course this is subject to opinion, but still, the consensus seems to point in favor of PMDG's NG. Can you elaborate?

because everyone has thire own taste. I think the Ifly is a much better deal than PMDG. both are very good aircraft, very realistic (althoue the ifly seems to have a lawn mower engine for a master battery).

Not everyone will agree with the general Consensus. if I could go back and change it, I would get the Ifly over the NGX

Argumentum ad populum. That's a Horibble way to make a argument.

A lot of People think COD is the best FPS out there. That dose not make them right.
