Hi all,

I know the ACARS shows which airport is the best option at any point of the flight if I have to divert, but I was wondering if there is a list anywhere of preferred airports in the north atlantic region to use for flight planning? Before taking off I like to know which airports along the route make good alternates so I can check the weather etc. in advance.

If you make a flightplan in SimBrief and click on the ETOPS square, it will give you diversions along your route.

I would say there are what, maybe 4 or 5 good ones for heavies. On the North American side St Johns and Gander in Newfoundland, Keflavik in Iceland, Lajes in the Azores and Shannon in Ireland. Those are the 5 I use for divert planning.
