i was wondering why we dont have any aircraft ratings for the Soviet Era jets, as Aeroflot is one of Delta's code share partners. I understand that when a/c like the IL-86 were developed Delta and Aeroflot didnt have a relationship, but it might be nice now that they do to include them as secondary ratings. Just curious

I agree, it would be neat to fly some Soviet airliners.

I'm not sure if this will come about - but I have been looking for a reason to learn the excellent TU-154 from Project Tupolev.

I watched this a few weeks ago; it's really very interesting. This thread made me think of it, it's a documentary about Aeroflot.

2:02 to 3:27 or so are pretty interesting, and so are the comments..."Everythings buzzing and ringing...yeah, I think I'll land..." LOL.

Since Delta and Aeroflot didn't have a relationship during the time period you're referring to then those aircraft types/routes will never be added.

Ah ic, the IL-86/96 and Tu-154 could still make their way in though since they have been used since Delta and Aeroflot began codesharing

But were those specific planes used in the codeshare? ... you can make a help desk ticket and ask but you will need to do a little research first. Which planes, flight numbers, routes, etc., etc.

Just because we don't have it at DVA doesn't mean you cannot fly it.

Seriously, the PT 154 is worth it. Blows anything PMDG ever did for FS9 (and in my opinion, pretty much on par systems wise with what we are now seeing for FSX) out of the water.

Now I want to go fly it...

I downloaded that Tu-154 the other day and I have to say I am very, very impressed with it. I have no idea how to work it, but it is clear a lot of hard work has gone into it to make it faithful to the real airplane.

I definitely plan to spend some time learning how to fly it. Although I don't have a lot of freeware aircraft to compare it against, it is definitely on par with some of the payware aircraft I've bought.
