I would look for quad-core as well. It sounds like a great computer to me. Should be able to run FS2004 no prob, why not upgrade to FSX??

I've been using FSX on a lesser machine than you describe, and it works. Doesn't handle online flights very well, though.

I would strongly recommend building it yourself, you can get a lot better performance for you money. Failing that look for something with an i5 (preferably a 4670k, but a 4570 would also work) and a dedicated GPU (preferably NVidia 650Ti or higher).

It's actually cheaper no matter how you look at it. The only ones that are cheaper to buy pre built are the super low end PCs that use low quality OEM parts, and those don't work very well for FS. Save up if you have to, but don't waste money on something that won't perform very well.

Listen to Robbie!
Im going throue hell right now as I have this awesome GTX770 that I cant use on this HP computer. And im investing in building my own. hopefully in a few months ill have it put together. Granted I did not have a choice when I bought this HP a year or 2 ago. but still I wish I could have built my own then.
Im a preety quick study, and from what ive dug up its not really hard. these vids from Newegg will show you. You really just need a screw driver.

Yeah, that computer will run FS9, but if you want to expand, it will founder with FSX. Especially with the graphics you posted.
