So my wife gave me this as an early Christmas present, but I am having a problem getting it configured in FSX. I removed the 3 seperate knobs, and but the long one on it to move all 3 at onces (More like for the multi engine jets). What I want it to do, is it be a Throttle only, and when you pull it all the way down to activate the reverse thrusts.
Right now, when I pull it all the way up it only takes my throttle to like 75-80% and just stays there, and when I pull it all the way back it changes to an exterior fly-by view of the plan. I use a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro as my joystick.
Any help would be apperciated!

Do you have fsuipc purchased ,? To get reverse thrust you need that software and set parameters for full idle and reverse

You really need FSUIPC for Saitek. Once you have the program and it is installed, delete all your Saitek drivers. I do not understand how this company can make a great well priced addition and totally botch their software. Another program to look at is LINDA and if you get eventually get the Saitek panels especially the comms panel, get SPADS. Life will be good.

Check if it's cut off at about that procent in fsx controls menu, for some reason mine had a pretty big dead zone when I first sat it up. As for reverse thrust i believe that's a push button setting so go find the one for reveres thrust or throttle down and assign that to the key that's assigned to putting your throttle all the way back.

Glad to see this post. After some minor headaches with my Saitek yoke/throttle/trim I finally see that purchasing a full version of FSUIPC is in my crystal ball.
Right now Jeremy, I make the button on the throttle from pulling it all the way back to function as reversers.

Although I purchased the registered version of FSUIPC, I don't use the Saitek yoke and 2 quadrants with it. All of the FSX mappings work fine with it. Setting up reverse thrust is probably the most tricky to set up. I've taken a few approaches & finally found the simplistic approach without using the Saitek mapping manager software works the best.
The reverse thrust detent on the Saitek quadrant actually registers as a "button". Map that "button" to "Throttle decrease (quickly)" and crank the repeat slider all the way to the right. Sometimes it takes a few tries to make that slider stick to the right but it will eventually stay put.

Gotcha Jason. That's what I do. It's the flaps and gear using the throttle that I can't get to work right. Probably worth the $27

I'm not sure how to get the levers to act as gear and flaps, even with FSUIPC. Anyone have that info? I just use the toggle switches below the levers for those functions.

The levers register as control axes so you have to click on the control axes tab, then in the pulldown menu chose the Saitek yoke or quadrant which ever one you're using, then map the flaps to one of the lever axes.
For the gear, I map a thumb button on the right handle of the yoke. It toggles the gear down and up. For the 737, I have to use the mouse to pull the gear from up to off position.

With FSUIPC it is a piece of cake to get the lever to act as the Land Gear Lever. I have 2 Saitek throttle quadrants tied together. I use the far left as a Spoiler Control the 4 in the middle as Throttles and Prop Control (If applicable), and the far right a Gear Up/ Down lever. To use a Saitek Lever as a Landing Gear Lever I use FSUIPC. In FSUIPC go to the [AXIS ASSIGMENT TAB], next identify the lever by moving it, is should show unassigned, if not unassigned no biggy just clear it, now to make it work, on axis page you will see "Set up ten ranges" with the lever in the far up position click the From (this should input the position of the lever) now move the lever to half the way down and click the TO. Click the box to the Right "UP", below these boxes you see "Control sent when range entered", Click the box to the immediate left and then select the command Gear UP. Now go back up to the "Set up ten ranges" and change the number to 2, if you have not moved your lever since you put it in the middle click the From and now move the lever to the bottom and click the From. To the right click the Down. Go to the "Control sent when range entered", Click the box to the left and then find Gear Down on the list of commands. Click OK and test it!
I hope my instructions were detailed enough!

Kenneth: Gear worked like a charm. Now I'm having flaps issues. Any suggestions are appreciated. Should I make intermediate settings or try something else.
Tahnks for the detailed instructions BTW.

My flaps I use the Saitek Power Lever buttons. I have designated the far left top and bottom buttons for flaps. Just go into FSUIPC and Click on the Buttons Tab. On the right side of the screen is assigning through FSUIPC and the left side is if you want to use a Keyboard Button. First set designate, push the button you want to assign a function to, Next click on the open box labeled Select for FS Control. Next, go to "control sent when button pushed" and scroll down till you find flaps, I use Flaps Inc Up & Down. This will then based on how your aircraft config file for flaps will raise or lower your flaps based on each push of the button.
There is a lot of neat things that you can do with FSUIPC. For instances, if you can designate function of a lever or button based on the aircraft specific or type. IE I don't have to do anything to go from B737 having [Spoiler-L eng-R eng - not used - not used - Landing Gear] (throttle levers assiged)to a King Air 350 [ 1 Eng -2 Eng - 1 Prop - 2 Prop - Eng Condition - Gear] and not have to click or change anything.
Take time to read the manual. If you have not purchased it - do so. It is one of the few best add-ons that you cna get and wont feel let down.

Thanks Kenneth. This is what I do currently but use a button on the yoke for easy access. What I'd like to try to do is have the slaps lever move simultaneously with the lever as I pull it down. I'm not sure if this is possible. I'm going to do some fresh install stuff for the drivers and see if I can get it to work. I tried setting specific positions using the detents but the default has 4 positons and the DC950 has like 7 or 8.
Regardless, my trim is now backwards for some reason. I'm working on troubleshooting that first. Also, now the throttle ramps up way too quickly with FSUIPC when there used to be a delay which is more real world with the JT8D's on the DC9.
Thanks for responding. Continuing on to troubleshoot. Makes me wish I 'd left things alone.
