Hey,
I just got the PMDG 777 about 4 days ago and love it, only problem is whenever I fly it I get the dreaded computer has run out of virtual memory and FSX crashes. Only happens with the 777 nothing else.
I have a high end computer, 32GB RAM, GTX Titans, i7 Extreme @ 4.2ghz, nearly 6TB combined HDD/SSD space.
Any Ideas?

There's a whole section in the PMDG 777 "getting started" manual about this. Check it out.. that section is the most accurate info you'll find on the subject.

You're basically going to want all unessential programs on your flight sim computer closed. Web browsers, iTunes especially. They all eat up a portion of the very valuable virtual memory of which there's only so much to go around (less than 4GB). I run Sysinternals process explorer to watch my virtual memory utilization when I'm flying. It'll crash when fsx.exe nears the 3.6 GB of virtual memory used mark. On a good day I can easily keep it under 3GB but some of the more complex airports will also take a big chunk.

So usually when I have FSX running I also have Google Chrome, ASN, PFPX and FSC running too. I have REX4 but supposedly it closes when it starts FS up. Obvoiusly when flying with DVA I have ACARS running too. What is the difference between virtual memory and RAM? I have 32GB RAM, isnt that plenty?

32GB RAM is plenty - more than most servers have. Virtual memory is not the same as total memory installed in your system - it's a pooled subset. Unfortunately FSX was written by developers many years ago and the prevailing architectural constraints at the time limited memory addressing beyond 4GB.
The Virtual Memory size for the fsx.exe process cannot exceed 4GB which generally equates to the numeric value of 4,000,000K. However, due to other running programs which also use Virtual Memory, the point at which the Virtual Memory pool becomes exhausted from an fsx.exe process point of view will be less than 4GB, typically around 3,600,000K is when fsx.exe is going to crash out with the "out of virtual memory" error message but again your mileage will vary based on how many other applications you have open which is why I advise you close as many as possible.
Click on the image below to download process explorer from Microsoft so you can monitor what's going on.

Thanks so much Jason!! Also, I looked up and found you can increase your VM allotted to each drive which I did in the control panel so hopefully that helps. Why though does it only happen with the PMDG 777?
Thanks again!

Because PMDG makes highly detailed and highly complex aircraft. They do their best to manufacture software that will run on most systems. For those with issues, that's what the tuning section of the manual is there for. What they are able to accomplish within the constraints of the FSX code tree is nothing short of amazing.

I think we need to convince a company like Bethesda Softworks to buy the Flight Sim title from Microsoft's graveyard and revive it. Maybe if we present it like a necromancer re-animating the dead, they'll go for it. It's obvious Microsoft cut the legs out from under Ace because they wanted to go with "Free to Play" and the failed "MS Flight" was the result.

YOu do have WIndows 7 64bit installed right? If you have the 32 bit installed then that's your problem. Also if you have the 32bit installed then you are only using 3gb of the 32 you paid for.
