Thanks for the info. I'll have to try that and see what I get. Just to update, I did finally manage to find complete stability with an overclock of 4.4GHz as of right now. I ran Prime 95 for the last 20 or so hours and I haven't seen any throttling and my temps are holding steady at 69-71C. Something interesting that I noticed is that at idle, with Real Temp running, my temps were around 29C but when I went into the BIOS to make a change in voltage, I noticed that the motherboard said my temps were about 10 degrees or so higher. I'm thinking that's why it was throttling at any higher voltage and if I'll make it any higher than I am right now, I'll have to look into custom cooling. Anyway, I'm pretty happy with 4.4GHz

I did manage to squeeze 4.4GHz out of my 3770K as of right now but I don't think I truly have the cooling to get higher. I have a Cooler Master Seidon 240M and it's just not keeping it from throttling above 4.4. I do have another question for anyone who might be able to help so here goes it....
I am running Real Temp and Prime95 for stress tests and when I have the voltage stable (no throttling and no shutdowns) at 4.4, I bump the multiplier up to 4.5 and the heat don't go up that much but after about 4 minutes of stressing, it starts to throttle. My temps @4.4 with 1.240v stay at a max of 72C but @4.5 with the voltage slightly higher, they max around 77C and I'm not sure that should throttle at that point.
******Here's the kicker that I can't figure out. I did notice that the stable 4.4GHz overclock at idle shows anywhere between 28-31C but when I went into the BIOS to make adjustments while searching for 4.5, the motherboard was saying the core temp was about 12 degrees higher???? Which one's right and is that likely why its throttling?
Sorry for the long post but even though I've researched and read lots, I'm still NEW TO OVERCLOCKING so I look up to you more seasoned folks for help. THANKS VERY MUCH to those of you that have and will help me in the future.
