Has anyone noticed that when you take off and/or land from KCVG, the airport that covers Cincinnati, you get credit for the state of Ohio (where you have NOT been) but not for Kentucky (where the airport is)? Not a big deal but thought I'd mention it just for fun. I need to find another flight into Kentucky!

Geographically it's over the border in Covington, a suburb of Cincinnati and it serves the metro Cincinnati Ohio area - so one would consider the airport Ohio. DTW is in Romulus, but I still think of it as Detroit.

You're right, Bob, this is somewhat weirder. Yes, DTW is in Romulus, which is still in Michigan, Atlanta is in East Point which is still Georgia, etc., but the ones in different STATES are handled strangely.

No, it's the only airport in NJ - for Delta, or any historic/partner airlines...

I just realized this today. I'm working on plotting my US tour for the 50 State Club. Thought I had Kentucky already since I've flown through CVG, but noticed it gave me the credit for Ohio...weird! Guess I'm going to KSDF

I ran into this as well and it took me a minute to realize I hadn't technical flown to Ohio.
Its fun trying to find valid flights that are between 2 states you haven't been to. Be sure to check the historical database. I think you need a historical flight to get to Delaware.

Correct. Delta pulled out of ILG several years ago. Frontier is the current airline flying out of Delaware.

When in Cincinnati, it's safe to remember: it always feels like your not in Ohio, but rather in Kentucky. See? Easy.

Actually KATL is in College Park.
