Hey guys,
Just a quick question, I have a very large Case for my desktop, its 11"x29"x26", anyway inside there is tons of room, and even with the 12 fans I have + liquid cooling (4 on top, 4 in back, 2 in front, 2 on side + watercooling push/pull) a ton of dust collects on the bottom, now there is a filter type thing but the dust builds up so quickly and thickly it doesnt do anything. There is never dust on the components or in the fans, just on the bottom of the inside and it collects all over the top of the outside and sides.
I periodically clean it out with the compressed air canisters, but it doesnt help much and it collects so quickly again - within a day there is another thick coating. So, is there a better way to manage this problem? or get rid of it? put fans on the bottom of the case? I dont even know if that is possible for me...
Anybody with ideas please say something!!!
Thanks!
~Joe

Joe,
The dust issue is well known and it mainly and generaly depends on the air quality where you reside. I would suggest that the room
your system is located should be ventilated by using a cielling fan or such, every time you are next to your pc. Another solution: buy one of those Air-Filtering units at your local Home-Care store. Good Luck.

My house has central air, so I have 3 vents in my room blowing air around and it is filtered, I also have a couple fans in my room cause I always get hot. Is there an easier way to clean the inside other then just blowing the air around with the compressed air canisters?

Does your computer case sit on the floor?

I think 90% of dust is human skin and hair. You'll have a creature living in your case in a few weeks!

Here's a main cause of your problem... Try and elevate your computer... Onto your desk if possible... Mine used to live on the floor but it ended up functioning as more of a vacuum cleaner than PC. It now sits on a stool next to my desk and ingests I would say less than 1/4 of the dust it used to

No room on mine either, thats why it sits on a separate stool

Well I have like 6" of room to elevate it, ill try that and put a fan underneath too see if it helps.

Can it not go like next to your desk, then you have more headroom to lift it

I will try but it would mean moving my desk over and seeing if it fit...my desk is in an alcove so everything fits in it.

mine is about the same size as your's and I put a small 6" step stool. Gives me more room to work and keeps the dust down to a manageable level.
