OK guys need your help if you have had any experience with this problem. Last Sat I got the bright idea of updating all my drivers on my mobo to include the BIOS. Everything seem to go great, until I started flying. I would fly along either in FSX or P3D and after a certain amount of time depending on the platform I get a CTD. When I run the event viewer, 7 out of 10 times I get a Crash due to Dinput8.Dll error. I have spent the last 4 days trying to figure this one out. I have done the following:
Updated all my Mobo Drivers,
Reverted my Mobo Drivers to Original,
Ran Malwarebytes
Ran AVG Virus
Ran PCTools
I am running out of things to do before I have to go scorched earth and do a fresh install, after I wipe hard drives.
My next step is to take the MOBO back to factory setup. It is a MSI Z87-G45 board and I really like it, but somewhere I jacked something up. If the MOBO reset does not work then I am going to try a WIN7 Repair, and if that fails to fix the issue, NUKE time!
I am hoping with the vast amount of experience, one of my fellow sim pilots has experienced this and been able to fix it!

Well after pumping its virtual heart and giving it every thing I could think of plus what other have recommended, yesterday at 0900 I finally had to pronounce my system dead, it was no longer capable of operating FSX or P3D. So I went for a total wipe of, reformat, and install of the OS and all required software. But as I was working to install, I decided that FSX was not going to be on the list. I have P3D and I have X-plane. I have to admit to myself that FSX has seen its better days and I need to advance and move forward. P3D is not 100% by a long shot, but neither was FSX when it first started. FSX is no longer supported nor being updated. Software makers like PMDG (which I have), need to embrace P3D or go the way of the DoDo bird. I hope they will, they have excellent products but when you have companies like Aerosoft that are making solid aircraft for P3D, that is where my money must go!
As far as X-plane, it has always been a love hate relationship with me. Great platform, but hate the interface, mainly I think because I am FSX spoiled. But they are still around and making updates.
So, I now embrace the change!
