Hey guys,

Recently, and only in the PMDG 777 the following problem occurs within ACARS at random points throughout the flight and is only fixable by restarting FSX and recovering the flight:

ACARS stops "updating" the position of the flight on the map, however the Flight Timer keeps going. Recovering the flight fixes this problem and puts the aircraft into the correct position, so obviously ACARS knows where my aircraft is, and its current state/attitude..but it isnt showing this on the map. If I try to land without restarting FSX and ACARS is in this "frozen" state, it tells me I am still xxx amount of miles away from my destination and I cant end the flight this early. This has happened on every one of my flights in the 777 since Tuesday, so UUEE-LFML, EHAM-WMKK, WMKK-RKSI, RKSI-VVNB, VVNB-RCTP and now RCTP-KSFO. It happened two times on my UUEE-LFML flight.

The same thing also happens in FlightSimCommander...both ACARS and it stop tracking the flight at the same time, and it is random...happened at 430nm the first time, 840nm second time, 1037nm third time...no consistency to it. I checked the event logs...nothing abnormal, no errors show up in FSX or ACARS. I reinstalled FSUIPC too.

This started with the previous build (102) of ACARS, and I updated it to build 103 with the hopes it would fix it...but no. Also, at the same time this problem started, I also started having the FSX freezing problem with flight saving and the PMDG 777...this has never been an issue for me, and I have always had flightsaving on and have had the 777 for over 4 months now.

I created a help desk ticket 4 days ago, nobody has answered yet.

If additional add-ons are no longer getting position updates, it's almost certainly because SimConnect has stopped sending updates to them. I'd be curious to see the FSUIPC log from one of those flights.

The only addons that I have had this issue with is FSC9.5 and PMDG 777... It happened on this mornings flight JFK-ZPSD, which when I tried to recover the flight, all the screens in the 777 were black and it recovered it in the wrong position, 293nm from JFK instead of 1,555nm from ZSPD where I should have been. Where would I find the FSUIPC log?

I believe what Luke is referring to is the Fsuipc4.log in [FSX DIR]/MODULES .

Ok, I found the log, but it is from Last night when I was just fooling around in the sim...I do not see any other logs, so I think I have to fly another flight in the PMDG 777 and hope the problem duplicates itself then give you the log??

OK, so it happened again on this flight, MBPV-KBOS. PMDG 777, same conditions as before. Stopped tracking 638nm from MBPV, 604nm from BOS. I didnt notice until 574nm from BOS. Links to the Logs are below.

Hope you find whats wrong and we can fix this!!

I have no idea what that means....I just downloaded the latest FSUIPC from shiratti.com, I did not change any settings at all. What should I do?

Just delete it and restart the sim? it will rebuild it like fsx does with the .cfg? or do I have to reinstall FSUIPC?

You should be able to restart FSX and it's rebuilt. No unistall needed.

It happened again, I did what you had told me and deleted the FSUIPC4.ini file and then let it rebuild itself. I flew a flight yesterday of about the same length as this one (Last night KBOS-TXKF, tonight TXKF-KATL). I checked it tonight, about 5-10min before it stopped tracking and the debugging option was off.

What do I do?

I have attached the log again.

And it happened yet again on KATL-OMDB 1,371 nm in. Now I have completely innaccurate ACARS log because it looks like I went across the globe in a straight line, and maintained no speed because it has no data........is there ANYWAY to fix this!

Look at the FSUIPC log - FSX stops sending SimConnect data every 3 or 6 minutes. You should probably complain to PMDG.
