After attempting to get this laptop fixed, I found out that it couldn't because it had a broken CPU (AMD A6 4400M). Therefore, I'm going to get a new one. Does anyone have any suggestions on what should be on this laptop for the best FSX experience without making me spend too much money?

I would stay away from laptop and get myself a custom desktop with that budget. Reason behind is that proper gaming laptop for FSX is normally more expensive than desktops, because any parts that goes into the laptop is more expensive than getting any desktop parts. Another pro for the custom desktop is that you have physical room for your future hardware upgrades and put in fancy dancy cooler system hat will keep the computer chips nice and chill. One of the biggest fallback for the laptop is that you have limited space for cooling fan/system and with that you may have to hold on to the over clocking the CPU and/or GPU until you find a efficient way of cooling down those chips other than to keep it right beside AC at all times. I currently own custom gaming laptop (well because I am student with limited space in my room) that I've spent close to $3,000 dollars. It has separate cooling fan for CPU and GPU, but it still reaches around 70 degrees Celcious during normal operation (payware addons) even with extra cooling mat that I've purchased earlier. I'm pretty sure there are more people here with more knowledge of computers than me, but this is my view of getting the proper computer to enjoy FSX or any other flight sim platform.

Anyway, I have decided to try to get one that is running Win7, and has an Intel processor running at least 3.0GHZ. If all goes well, I'll be back flying in early August.

Good Decision Darren. But as Soonho has said; You might go well with custom Desktop. I have two. a desktop and a laptop in case I`m traveling.
