What things do I need to change/upgrade in relation to Delta Virtual? I'm pretty sure I need to upgrade the FSUIPC to a FSX version. Any incompatibility issues with installer packages, aircraft, etc. that I should be aware of? Any general FSX things I should have a heads up about with Windows 8.1? I know I had a heck of a time installing some things in FS9 due to Windows 8.1 and it sounds like some of those issues still exist in FSX.

I appreciate any feedback from my fellow DVA pilots!

I believe that you will get a new version of FSUIPC when you install ACARS for FSX. With respect to Windows 8.1, I wouldn't let FSX install in it's default folder because C:/Program Files and C:/Program Files (X86) require different permissions to write files in these folders. Make a folder off the main C:/ for your games and FSX (C:/Brandon ) and install all of your games and FSX in here. Also, for Windows 8.1, I would run FSX in "Vista compatibility mode" (right click the FSX icon on the desktop and pick the compatibility tab). You can also run FSX as an administrator to give it the permissions to modify your fsx.cfg file and other files it needs to fly.

Also, search the water cooler for Windows 8.1 discussions. I have seen a few that offer good suggestions on your install of FSX in Win8.1.
