During cruise, suddenly my joystick loses capability for flight control handling, and I have to steer and control the throttle with numeric keypad buttons after landing, which is difficult at best, and sometimes embarrassing. I have a sidewinder Force Feedback 2 joystick and my aircraft is a PMDG 737 NGX. My windows version is 8.1. Has anyone ever encountered this before?

I have the Auto Throttle Manual Override set to Always under PMDG Set Up - Options - Simulation, and I have the latest FSX tweaks installed. Is there any other settings I need to check into?

Sometimes, addons will malfunction if you installed FSX in Program files x86. Did you do that?

I just checked the Microsoft site and it said that this thing is not compatible with Windows 8.1. Try setting Fsx compatibility mode to Windows Vista/XP and running it as an admin.
