Hey guys I am not as busy with my job, so I am flying again, but I have a question. I do not have a APC/UPC backup for my desktop, theyre kinda expensive for me now, but my apartment has been having a lot of power outages lately, it rains every day now, the power goes off and right back on, my desktop shuts off and resets. I am scared to do any long hauls in a 777 or whatever, because I would lose my flight. Does dva acars save current progress in a complete computer power loss? What about flight sim, is there any way to load a previous flight, or an addon that will auto save my flight every ten sec so that I can start from where I was? Thanks guys

Acars can save the flight on predetermined intervals so you can actually recover, I would worry about my computer rather than Flight Simulator as those power disruptions can actually damage your computer and you may have system failure

Maybe i should get a UPC battery then. How would I get flight sim back in the same position where I was at in the flight?

load the FS, start the acars - it should give you a msg about a flight that was in progress and ask you if you want to recover. That should do the trick. It may not be the exact point where you left off; it all depends the flight saving interval of acars which can be adjusted under the settings

Buy a cheap UPS and your problem will be solved, except for beeping when the power goes out.

if power transfer from your outlets to your UPS would also cause the same transfer to happen in the sim... say Auto Pilot disabled,. you would get the same beeps:P

Yes it does reload the plane in last saved state but some panels or gauges do not like to be restarted. Usually I recover in this order: start FS loading ACARS flight - pause FS - fiddle all the knobs and switches - start ACARS and recover - resume flight.
