Now I am really getting ticked off at FSX.

Spent 2 days uninstalling the whole thing, reinstalled it and installed all my aircraft addons, scenery stuff that I KNOW wasnt harming FSX and working for months for me. Ran FSX a bunch of times for the last 3-4 days, testing stuff no issues at all. Restarted my computer 5 minutes ago, now FSX does the same thing it did before, opens and immediately closes. I have not changed any thing within FSX since I reinstalled it. It was working perfectly fine for 4 days.

Only thing to change from my computer was a windows update the computer did when I restarted it just now.

I get the following info from the event viewer when I attempt to open FSX:

A request to disable the Desktop Window Manager was made by process (Flight Simulator X v10.0.61637.0)

and

The Desktop Window Manager was unable to start because composition was disabled by a running application

Tried removing CFG file let it rebuild, no help. Only thing I know is right before it closes I get a message asking if I want to run PMDG_OPTIONS.DLL (I think thats what it is, it closes so fast it is hard to see)

This is REALLY Bugging me. Thanks everybody for help in advance.

And if you haven't already, try finding and downloading and putting in your fsx directory UIAutomationCore.dll version 6.0.5840.16386

Thank you so much Bill for that link, I removed the FSDT Sceneries and all of a sudden FSX IS WORKING!!! YAY!! Now, I just have to figure out how to make FSDT work with all the proper files and the right way so FSX does not close, cause I spent 100+ on those sceneries and I love them, dont wanna waste it.

Make sure you have the latest updates from the FSDT site. Install one addon, the update, then the latest FSDT Addon Manager from here:

Try it and it and if it works do the second scenery/update etc.

So it was an addon that you have. FSDT it is really heavy on the system. many thing gets install.

Thiago I am doing the tweaks and everything based off the PDF you gave me, and now my FSX screen is black, like if I hover over buttons it works fine but I cannot see anything. Restored all the backup files, let cfg rebuild itself no help. Also no box for DX10 anymore in settings.

What type of Fight Simulator do you have? If is FSX (Standard, With Acceleration or Gold)?

I think it has to do with your Graphic Card. Do you have the Nvidia, right? have you installed the new update of the driver?

FSX Gold, I will check on the latest drivers I am pretty sure they are the latest. its Nvidia GTX Titan

****EDIT**** Updated Latest drivers, its working now. Restarted computer. Will try Direct X10 now again.....

You mentioned it was working fine for a few days and then a Windows update was installed. Have you considered that could be a culprit?

I thought that, but then when I uninstalled FSDT products, and updated graphics driver everything is working fine now, but I cannot use any of my FSDT Products. The FSDT thing was also probably what caused FSX to stop working in the first place before I reinstalled it last week.

On another note, in tweaking DX10, I am noticing a considerable increase and FPS, will be looking at VAS and other Memory usage to see how that plays out. I do wanna know however, is there a way to make FSX look less like a "painting" if you know what I mean and more real? This might be a SweetFX tweaking thing.....
