Hj everyone,i want to ask you. My computer started as a store bought dell insperon 546. I upgraded to ocz 5 or 600 psu, nvidia gtx560, 8 gig ram, running on windows 7 64 bit. Has stock amd phenom2 x4 920 cpu. I fly fsx pretty well,with tweaks,looks and flies well. Do you know if i can upgrade the cpu? What could i go up to using same board, just a cpu swap? I thank you all for any help,im confused with this.

I think you are probably maxed out with the current CPU. The computer is 4-5 years old and the Phenom was the high end for your model when it was manufactured.

Peter;
By doing that, you probably need to change the motherboard as well. Don`t recommend. Try to save money and try to build a one as you have already the Power Supply and GTX 560 GPU.

Hi Peter
Based on the current config, a straight upgrade to a 940 will most likely work (using the same motherboard). It runs at 3.0 stock and is unlocked so you could (if the bios allows) overclock it up to probably 3.6 or 3.8 Mhz. Considering FSX is CPU and GPU intensive, this may make a difference. The return on investment is not that great though.
I would recommend you do not take this route but upgrade using something like this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.1739932 Make sure the motherboard fits the case.
Obviously more research is needed - that is just an example.
Hope this helps

You can reuse your hard drive. The OS would not boot up and run, you'll have to re install. Now it would be the time to add an SSD to the config I know you do not want to hear that...

If everything seems to work OK, I would leave it as is. No reason to upgrade what you have unless you enjoy spending money. The Flight Simulator product can't really take advantage of the newer technologies. If you need a new computer, go buy one.
