I am using DVA ACARS Version 3.1 (Build106). Every time I try to connect I get several lines of error messages then the acars computer terminates the connection. Not sure what is going on here, because it was working fine before. I know that there is something to do with allowing port access to for 15527 in the firewall. I am using Norton 360. Can anyone out there advise?

First I get this:

Error processing ACARS datarsp response.

Error text: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
at Gvagroup.Acars.RequestReceiver.ProcessDataResponse(XmlNode cmdNode) in d:\ACARS3\DVA ACARS 2\Src\Message\RequestReceiver.cs:line 1207
at Gvagroup.Acars.RequestReceiver.ProcessResponse(XmlNode cmd) in d:\ACARS3\DVA ACARS 2\Src\Message\RequestReceiver.cs:line 206

Then I get this:

[13:10:43] 10054 An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host
[13:10:43] ACARS connection closed by server

What do I need to do?

I run the same problem and that issue has to do with your firewall. I also tried many things even called my Internet provider. They did excluded the 10054 to be blocked by my firewall, but still has the same problem.

I believe that Norton has it's own firewall if the internet protection version. I would make sure that the ports are open and allowed for ACARS.

Okay so just fired up FSX and logged onto acars. It works fine now. What everrrrrrr! Thank you all for your helpful suggestions.

Spoke too soon. I don't get the error message when logging into ACARS now but it still disconnects me after being logged on for 30-45 seconds. Any suggestions?

I have the same problem with the same error message. I've tried looking around the cooler but couldn't find anything.

Not true Luke. I also called my provider and they had add that 10054 to excluded from blocking, but I still get the same error. Not always thou and I have a Comcast at 105MB of speed.
