In the 1950's (when Jim Daigneau just started his pilot's career) Pan Am took their DC-6's not only all the way to South America but branched out to many resort islands in the Caribbean along the way. Many smaller airlines serve these inter-island routes today. Be sure to check your charts for runway lengths. Remember this was a DC-6 flying here, not a 4 engine aircraft with long runway requirements. If you really want that Caribbean flavor, I'd recommend the DHC-7 with its outstanding short-field capabilities or a piston prop of yesteryear. Flight attendants should serve Jerk Chicken on all flights.
