Hi! My name is Max and before I continue I would like to say I am a VA newbie so please excuse stupidity. Anyway I have just gotten accepted into Delta VA and I wanted to jump into the cockpit. I was accepted into the CRJ-200 program. So I went to the Pilot Center and went to the fleet library and found the CRJ installer. I downloaded it and began the installer I was able to choose my language and accepted the License agreement and then I hit a wall. When I click next it says that "No supported Microsoft Flight Simulator versions were detected" I click OK and the installer closes. I have downloaded the installer multiple times with the same result. I have however been able to download the ACARS v3.1 without a problem. It is not just the CRJ installer either I tried to download a different aircraft just for kicks and giggles and that is a no-go. I have windows 8.1 Standard edition and the old version of FSX just will not work. Please note that i have already opened an issue on the main website and they referred over to the Water Cooler

This is the help desk template we use. Feel free to ask other questions here though. Many are using FSXSE successfully.
Via the Help Desk:
Based on test, DVA fleet installers appear to work fine. ACARS works, FSInn works great, and FSTramp works. You do have to navigate inside the steam folders and run a few extra exe files but that is well documented in the water cooler in this thread: http://www.deltava.org/thread.do?id=0x1de9d
Three issues we're still having with FSX SE are:
1. The first time you install a fleet aircraft and choose to fly it it will prompt you several times to run and trust until it loads. It only does this the first time you try to load the aircraft. After that it loads fine.
2. The other issue is the GPS will not display your route or way points on the map. This might be due to me making a few configuration changes. We have not researched it fully yet.
3. If you do exit out of the flight midway ACARS will not restore the flight.

Thanks for the response Andrew but I have looked at the thread and it does not provide any help. Is anyone else getting the No supported Microsoft Flight Simulator versions were detected" error message? I would also like to mention that I have done a full reinstall of the flight sim with Revo Uninstaller pro but to no avail

Hey Max,
Welcome to Delta Virtual Airlines. I haven't had any issues downloading the CRJ fleet. What are your computer specs? Also there is a install registry fixer in the installer under fleet library. Have you tried that? Anyways good luck brother and welcome to DVA.

Andrew,
I was on FSX steam, it crashed the other day but ACARS was able to keep my flight data. Thought I'd throw that out there.

Thanks Joe. Glad to see you helping each other. FSX is a foreign language to me and my old computer with FS9 dialed down settings.

No problem Andrew. Flight simming is kind of new to me. I played a few flight sim games back in the day but it was mostly World War two era. I am loving the commercial aspect of flight sim, and I am loving flying for DVA.
