Hey everyone! The laptop I have been using for years to run FS was replaced by my work, and the new one doesn't have a CD/DVD drive. Any way I can get it installed? Maybe make an ISO on a different machine and put it on a thumb drive?

You can do that or just buy a USB cd/dvd drive. They have them in small form factors so they wouldn't be very big when you take it with you.

I would look into an ISO creator - I added an extra hard drive in my ThinkPad's ultra bay where the disc drive normally goes, so I have my FS backed up in ISO format. Can't remember which program I used, but it should be a fairly straightforward task - then mount disc one, run the setup.exe, then mount disc two, once finished, mount acceleration and run that installer. Let us know if you have any more questions, or if you have issues finding a proper program.

Hi Paul, one thing you can do is create an ISO file and if you are able to connect the laptop to your home network via ethernet cable transfer it onto the laptop that way. It is faster than the thumbstick method as most routers now can transfer up 1 Gb/s. Just some to consider if you're able to do it. smile
