I recently installed Windows 10, and right now I'm kind of kicking myself in the butt. However, I want to try and install a clean sweep of FSX and my addons. When trying to uninstall my add ons tonight, everything was going fine until the uninstall feature of windows 10 all of a sudden decided not to work. It began when I tried to uninstall PMDG products. Windows won't find the uninstall location I guess. Also, trying to uninstall FSX itself (even though I know to do the add ons first, but wanted to see if that would work) and it itself is not giving me any prompts. My third party uninstallers are telling me that the path cannot be found. Windows 10 just sits there when I click uninstall, no action. Any pointers? I cannot find any solutions online, and the Microsoft fix it app for this particular issue is not yet compatible with Windows 10.
Thank you for any support!

W10 works well on my end with all my addons (FS9), and I know a few others have had all their stuff work well on FSX and some people on P3d too.

You'll have to manually remove the folders in your hard drive titled FSX, PMDG, etc. Speaking of PMDG, what addons work with Windows 10 in FSX?

I strongly recommend that you DONT install Win 10. I've had a sharp increase in CTDs, there is really no FPS increase or decrease. All of my PMDG addons work, Majestic Dash works fine, had a bit of trouble getting VPilot started but I've got it working now. All of my Orbx areas work without flashes. I tried to get Dx10 to work but it brought my FPS from mid 20s to a steady 5 with AA turned off. It worked well with win7. Just my two cents.

Windows 10 is fine. If all of your software is on a single drive, you may want to consider doing a clean install of Windows 10 and then reinstalling everything. As a start though, I would recommend you go back to your earlier operating system and uninstall there and then upgrade to Windows 10 again. If you had Windows 7 before, going back is easy. Just look at the recovery tab of Win10

Thanks everyone. I got FSX working with some of the pointers here. Windows 10 isn't giving me much trouble anymore.
Now, that I did a clean install of PMDG products. I'm back at my Autobrake RTO, braking issue. I forget how I handled this problem before (I did fix it about a year ago). I tried a few steps that I found online but nothing is working this time around.
PROBLEM:
Push back from gate. Set RTO, start taxing. Need to take a turn, so I hit the brakes and move the tiller (rudder pedals :-) ) and then the braking remains to some degree. The only way to get the aircraft to move normally again, without excessive thrust of course, is the reset the autobrake; first to OFF and then back to RTO. Hit the brakes again, and the problem/solution starts all over again. Tried to play with registry edits for Saitek, FSX sensitivities, null zones, calibration. Nothing is working. Again, this problem was fixed before my new installs. But it's back.
Thoughts?

Windows 10 had been good for me as well, I even see a FPS increase since the OS is lighter.
As far as your second issue, what device are you using, ie yoke, throttle and rudder petals? I did have an issue with my X-55 at first, but a new driver update corrected the issue with stuck buttons.

Saitek Pro Flight Pedals
Plugged into the side of the pro flight yoke
X52 pro flight throttle also plugged into the yoke.
Saitek throttle quadrant (throttle mixture prop) but assigned for speedbrake, landing gear, and flaps
Plugged into the yoke too

Have you installed the new x-52 driver for 10? They are still beta I believe, might be having issues with that.

I just upgraded my main PC to Win 10 but cannot get FSX to run beyond the front end UI, just locks up. Have tried various tips and tricks gleaned from around the net but no joy. Wondering whether the Steam version has better compatibility but posts I have seen from Dovetail indicate it's not 100% guaranteed.
In the meantime and very fortunately I have been able to persuade FS9 to run albeit in windowed mode and it's actually very smooth.
However at this stage seriously thinking about rolling back to Win 7 but it's still only a stopgap measure when in a few years time the main PC is replaced and the only option is a new box with Win 10 pre-installed.

I have Windows 10 and I am running FSX:SE with no problems. I upgraded from Windows 8.1 and would do it again in a second. I did have a video driver issue but I knew that going in. I installed the driver updated and everything works without any issues.

I think I'll give it a try Kev, have uninstalled the old boxed version and add-ons ready, even if it doesn't work in Win 10 at least if I roll back to 7 I'll have the latest version rather than the Box + Service Packs.

Update - after some trial and error, have got FSX SE to run.
However a couple of issues which DVA possibly need to look at. The version of FSUIPC bundled with your downloads is out of date and caused FSX SE to generate a warning message on loading - select "Yes" and the load aborted, "No" and FSX loads but none of the third party aircraft (in this case the 757's) appear in the menu. Solution - downloaded the latest version from Pete Dowson's site.
In FSX SE none of the external textures are showing on your aircraft in the menu and in game, at least on the 757. Off to grab a different one from FS.com or re-install my Just Flight ones, but would appreciate if there is a solution so I can fly the officially approved 757 (which is very nice otherwise).

Update:
The missing textures obviously due to running FSX SE in DX10 preview mode. Tried unticking this but just crashed and not at all reliable.
Have now rolled back to Win 7 which is where it will stay until they prise this PC from my cold dead hand. FSX SE "returned" for a refund and will reinstall boxed FSX during the next couple of days.
