Can you name all of the U.S. State capitals? Well you’ll have to in order to know where to fly to achieve this accomplishment. Fly to all 50 state capitals plus our national capital (DCA) and you’ll go to the head of the class.

Unfortunately, some state capitals do not currently have, nor ever had from what I can determine, commercial flights to their airports. This is likely because they are so close to existing larger cities and international airports. So, we’ve made a few exceptions. However, all those required to be flown to are either served by Delta or its codeshares, or were served in the past by the historical merger airlines or their mergers. Anyone who happens to complete the capital club and the 50 state club on the same flight gets a gold star!

Here are the airports which are in close proximity but are not state capitals:

Dover, DE served by Wilmington, DE (ILG)
Annapolis, MD served by Baltimore Washington (BWI)
Jefferson City, MO served by St. Louis (STL)
Carson City, NV served by Reno (RNO)

All the rest of the capitals should be available in our current or historical schedules. I've recently added some more historical flights. One variation to note is that Olympia Washington was served by Hughes Air West and the flight was acquired by Northwest briefly before being abandoned after the merger.

The recently added historical flights are in the DVH, NEH, NW, and WAH schedules from various decades.

I fixed it. I had SFE for Santa Fe and its actually SAF. Fixed now.

In secret, that () was my attempt to keep Jim rose from accomplishing this before anyone else.
