I just watched Cpt Walton you video of him landing L-1011 into KDCA and I'm jealous. I don't know much about conputers but have a Intel(R) Core(TM) i-7 cpu 860 2.80 ghz 8.00GB ram. My video card is NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 ti. Is there anything i can do to get more fps and better looking scenery?

FSX is CPU intensive and really doesnt use your GPU .
You should start with Overclocking your CPU and careful of heat, Maybe go to CLC cooler solution water cooled, or noctua NHd15 to keep your temps down, It does have a turbo option to 3.4 GHZ but will induce throttling,
Read up on FSX tips and tweaks to get the right settings for your Specs, also look into overclockingthat I7 cpu thats how you get really good frames.

He uses FSX SE which is better on frames from what I recall.
I used the ventubo link to adjust my fsx.cfg file and my frames jumped a lot and are smoother.
With the $5 sale for FSX SE, I may take the plunge (or plunger) but I don't feel like waiting forever to download 16GB.
I've thought of upgrading to i7 2600 from my i5 2600 in hopes of fps increase but FSX SE may be a better investment.

It's a Lynnfield (that's about 4 generations old now) and not a -K CPU. Might be worth considering a CPU upgrade at some point in the future. Sandy Bridge was the big jump for FSX performance.
Cheers!

I just need to determine if my mobo can handle a -K CPU or sandy bridge.
My box is HP Compaq 6200. This thread (http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Other-Desktop-PC-Questions/cpu-upgrade-on-6200-pro/td-p/3306973) seems to say it could handle a sandy bridge 2600 cpu but I'm not fond of taking a risk in purchasing one.

Jerry;
I have 2 ASUS GTX 660 Ti doing SLI... But in that PC I`m using Prepar3D V2.5. I can`t tell what performance it will give. But sure it provided me more FPS and knowing the new Prepar3D V3 provides a better looking when you do SLI and it does support.
Now, it all depends how much do you willing to invest in your new PC or upgrading. Let me know and I can assist you to get a good hardware for your FSX. You can visit my blog too: http://bthiago2.wix.com/flightsimfsx in the last page, on "RIGS" I have my specs for the other PC using FSX in DX10 mode.
Cheers

Thanks guys, Thiago you see my specs above. I know I should be able to make this thing smoother and with better scenery more fps. I get an average of 16-45 fps, night flying with events are the worst down to 6 fps depending on amount of aircrafts. I have built computers in the past but it's been so long and I think one mistake I made was buying this. Dell Studio xps 8100.

Yeah;
I don`t like things that is already build it. But I also had a laptop that I use "Sone VAIO" http://www.pcworld.com/product/1303276/sony-vaio-vpcf23jfx-bc-notebook.html and works perfect with FSX Steam.
