Good morning,

Lately I've been trying to come up with ways to better improve my FSX experience, upgrading airport scenery from the stock. I've found that one of the frustrating things I come across with flying is when I'm unable to see the real skins for other planes, instead seeing the default "VIP" plane or some rectangular monstrosity coming in for a landing or taxiing about the airport. So, with that said, I was wondering what other pilots have done to combat these eye sores. Is there anything that can be done??

By seeing the VIP plane, I think you are referring to the Squawkbox. Seeing you are using the FSX, I'd sugest you to try the vPilot and download traffic packs (you can try IVAO traffic pack or world of AI, which those two are free) and download model matching and about 80% of the plane will be shown in proper livery/type of plane.
Squawkbox is no longer supported as soon as vPilot has came out and since vPilot is actively being supported/updated I think it is much better platform than that of Squawkbox.

Is there any way to fix the squawkbox issue though say if you're on FS9?

I attempted to look up what to do yet couldn't figure out how to create the document for squawkbox to read it and recognize it in the program..

When I used FS9, I uses the FSInn program. i liked it much better than SB. You might try that. Google it and there is a link on the programs and how to install.

I was able to install vPilot and the World of AI traffic pack. However, once I fired up vPilot, I noticed all of the planes are invisible, except for the red and green lights. Any suggestions?

I just turned both of them off but still have some that are invisible. I also have some that are plain white, but maybe i'm just going to have to live with that. I signed up for IVAO and installed about 7000+ skins. frown

The IVAO MTL is the best option for vPilot use.
For the WoAI issue, all I can imagine is that you didn't have the corrisponding packs installed on your PC which meant that vPilot was looking to use liveries and models that didn't exist.
As I say, the IVAO_MTL is the better option in my opinion and is accurate!

Make sure you download the IVAO rule set. If you don't it will not work. Furthermore, it is about 80% accurate, since some people put wrong ICAO aircraft name when they sign in, OR that type of model is not avaliable in the IVAO package. Make sure you turn off the Option ->Shadow-> Display -> Aircraft tab, and untick first two exterior settings regarding shadow.

VPilot no longer supports the IVAO package which was designed exclusively for use by it's members flying on the IVAO network, not VATSIM.

So, if VPilot no longer supports the IVAO package and SquawkBox is no longer supported, what does everyone use? I'm almost to the point where i'd be willing to pay someone to set it up for me, it's THAT frustrating.
