When you log in, you may notice a new web site UI. I've spent the past week making our site significantly more mobile-friendly using a responsive layout that works better on phones, tablets as well as desktop browsers. Part of that involves a new menu bar - which has been available for several years but is now the default. It should allow significantly more screen real estate on tablets. For phones, you should see the side menu go away in place of a menu overlay that appears when you click on the page title at the top.
A significant portion of our traffic comes from mobile devices, and in order to remain prominent in Google search rankings we need to have a mobile-friendly site. This latest build should give us both while preserving much of the existing UI.
If you have errors, please refresh the page to ensure you have the latest Javascript and CSS files. If you still have problems, please fill out a Help Desk Issue.
Cheers!

May I recommend adding the international sign for menu next to the logo that way people know there's an actual menu there. Here's what that looks:
Also, the menu seems to be cutting out between each page's link, might want to check the padding or margin on those as it might be leaving a transparent gap. Makes things a lot harder to read on mobile.
Apart from that I think everything else is great. Thanks for the update Luke.

I've been wondering why for the past few years it always alternated on my computer, but I like it over all. Looks more of the age (now we just need a new 767 up top to refresh it all).

Hey Luke, would it be possible to have the top menu not scroll with the screen.
If you're looking a long post in the water cooler it could be a little tedious to scroll all the way back up to get out of that post. I know you can simply just hit the back button on your keyboard but thought might be nice for tablet and phone users.

So, how do I enable the option to fix it back to the way it was?
This is a desktop simulation site, we have computers. I do not think I have ever been on this site on mobile, and this is now completely broken for me on my computer.
I just want the sidebar back as a option. I personally can't stand the top bar. It is inefficient and most of the dropdown boxes do not work causing endless frustration.
How do I set it back to the proper desktop site? (as an aside I HATE websites becoming more "mobile friendly" IE broken to real browsers. I've seen way too many sites become unusable because of "upgrades".
Thank you.

You can do so in your profile - right beside the color scheme.
It is inefficient and most of the dropdown boxes do not work causing endless frustration.
If you're having problems I'd be curious to know what browser you are using. It should work on a modern browser - Safari, Firefox, Chrome or a modern I.E.
How do I set it back to the proper desktop site?
The interesting thing to me is that the side bar site is actually the mobile version of the site. Tablets and desktops get the top bar. However, if you are encountering problems I am interested in fixing them.
Cheers

Thank you very much for the revert option!
IE10 is my browser.
The drop boxes just wouldn't stay put. I could scroll down one to pilot center, but below that no matter how carefully the drop-down would disappear making it difficult to reach most of the site. I had to Google specific pages to reach them.

From experience in coding websites, IE is a webdesigner's worst nightmare. It always requires twice to work to make 1 browser (IE) compatible. I would recomend moving away from it in the future. You know it's bad when even Microsoft stops improving it.

Well, I'm glad you're happy.
IE10 is my browser.
I'll do some additional testing to ensure it's functional in IE10. While Chrome is >50% of our user traffic, I try and support browsers that have over a 10% traffic share. That means Chrome, Firefox, IE and Safari. As a practical matter, IE10 probably shouldn't be covered since IE in general is 13% of our traffic and IE10 is just under 5% of that 13% - the majority of our IE traffic is IE11.
However, if it's a simple conditional CSS expression to change the spacing between the menu options (which I think is the problem - IE<11 doesn't trigger hover when hovering over the margins/padding) it shouldn't be hard for me to roll out. If it's not that easy, I'll just change the server-side rendering rules to disable the side menu for IE10.
Cheers!

Hi Luke,
I like to finally have the solid choice down, however I think I may have an issue with the site on my phone. It's a el cheapo android LG smartphone, but fairly new and complex. Anyways, on Chrome after signing in, there's no top menu bar like there is on a desktop display.
Someone did mention here somewhere I might have to hit the menu button, but I don't recall seeing such available anywhere...

Thanks Luke. The following is furnished for your information. Small problems. Just upgraded my cell phone to Sprint's Galaxy S6. Using the Sprint default browser it warns me that the site is unsafe because it doesn't have a security certificate. After I connect anyway, the site's home page loads, but there are no additional pages. The links inside the page work, but there is no way to get to the sign in function or any other page. When I log in with Google, I don't get the security warning, but same problem with signing in and getting to other pages.
This is not a 911 - normally have other computers available. Don't know if this problem is unique to the Sprint Galaxy 6 or if others have the same problem. but thought you would want to know.
Thanks again,
Al
