So. I decided to try it--I mean how bad could it possibly be? I am running a Vision desktop i7 3.2Ghz 64bit with 12G of RAM, NVidia GTX 460. Everything worked great in Win 7. Win 10 install seemed to be harder that it should have been. FS now does not boot all the time. When it does, it takes a long time and is very unstable. Plus, I lost all the external and VC textures from the CalClassic airplanes. Rooting around I discovered that FSX is booting up in 32bit--I'm not a techie, but this doesn't seem right. I'm not sure if WIN 10 is trying to run in 32bit: I didn't see an option during install to choose. Plus, I would have thought that Bill Gates should have been smart enough to figure that out without asking.
Any ideas?
(note--I'm flying everyday this week so response time is not really an issue.) Thanks all.

There is no support for WIN10 for any FS products I believe unless steam offers support for their fsx. In addition since it is new I do not think any testing or little has been done on it. For the 32 bit, I am pretty sure FS is 32 bit although I could be wrong, so WIN runs it as such. I do not think a 64bit program would run as a 32 bit program, and a 32 bit cannot run as a 64bit program...maybe im wrong though.

What type of FSX are you using it? FSX boxed or FSX Steam? I didn`t had no problem at all while switching to WIN10, but using Prepar3D. Try to remove everything in the folder: C:\Users\FSX\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX\Flight Simulator X (Backup into Desktop first) and fireup again FSX and let it create the files again. After that you may add your FSX.CFG into if everything opens fine. Also turn all the way down your UAC permission (You might want to search on that one).
Let me know the results.

I also ran FSX and Prepared on WIN 10 with no issues, would like to help out if I can.

FSX is a 32 bit program, so nothing wrong with it launching as 32 bit. I would also do was Thiago suggests about the FSX.cfg.
