This is a picture of my ND on Friday in DAL1920, B717, on the way back to ATL from EWR. Note the groundspeed and wind! Ugh. We were in fact only about 3 minutes late, which I considered a miracle. I wasn't smart enough to take a picture on the way to EWR where our max ground speed was 624 knots! I told the pax that they were now firmly in the "600 knot club", no small feat for the 717.
Here's the Flight Aware tracks going up: http://flightaware.com/live/flight/DAL1920/history/20151218/1405Z/KATL/KEWR/tracklog

Yeah, the dispatcher actually planned us for that. We picked up about 50KGS as I remember. The ride was remarkably smooth.

The jetstream was remarkably strong last week! I noticed a number of westbound flights had early releases to try to remain on time.

31 minutes to the Westminster VOR ...
If there weren't tolls down there, I could almost drive that. smile

And every time I see a 717 cockpit, I'm really disappointed PMDG hasn't developed that aircraft. They would have such a good head start with all the work they did on the MD11.

I know, right? It's literally all the same avionics, displays, symbology etc. Very similar to the C-17 also--It's the perfect marriage of the Long Beach tank builders and the St Louis fighter guys.

You're all welcome any time! Being basically a DC-9, it's pretty cozy: you still have to be careful of the overhead switches.

Gonna have to make that one happen some day... Heheheh. Mother Delta has been flying DTWORF on the 717 for the past few months, terminating flight.
