No doubt (the statement, not the band), many of you have seen a mix-up of the accomplishments. After some close consideration we chose to replace some of the accomplishments with some aircraft-specific accomplishments.
What's modified:
The online century clubs in 100 flight increments after 1000, You now go by 100's to 1000, then 1500, 2000, and so on.
The Stage 1 prop and jet century clubs in 100 flight increments beyond 1000. These go to 1000 and then 1500, 2000 and so on.
What's new:
- 1,5,10 and 15 year awards based on years since your first logged flight. We thought it would be great to recognize many who have been here a long time and give newer pilots something to look forward to.
- Everett Clubs (100, 250, 500, 1000, etc.) counted towards flying any Boeing Aircraft (Everett WA is the location of the Boeing factory)
- Toulouse Clubs similar but for any logged Airbus flights (Toulouse is the final assembly location for all of the Airbus aircraft until the Alabama site is finished.)
Still to come: More 100/250/500 clubs centered around Lockheed, Douglas, and Bombardier/Canadair aircraft. Most likely they'll be called the Burbank, Long Beach, and Valcourt Clubs, respectively. I may add Embraer clubs as well.
Thanks to AFVA for the great idea of manufacturer-specific accomplishments.

My mistake. Valcourt Club will be for Convair aircraft. The club for Bombardier will be Dorval Club (Dorval Canada is the HQ).

I like how you managed the aircraft type accomplishments by manufacturers, Andrew (and the names too - Long Beach club has a certain ring to it).
I don't want to take anything from your awesome job, but it might be worth a quick discussion if the B717-200 belongs with Everett or Long Beach. I believe it was manufactured and designed in Long Beach, but I am not sure.

Kyle,
Hmmm. Perhaps some overlap. The city names are focused on the manufacturer not the location where the aircraft were specifically made. I could probably out the 717 in to clubs. Good thoughts. I wasn't going to call the club for the Boeing's the Chicago or Seattle club. Sounded too boring to me.

Well, here's what I tell anyone in earshot about my little B717. I call it a "DougieMcBoeing". It is definitely a DC-9 on the outside. Same DSM wing (Douglas Santa Monica) that doesn't go real fast and doesn't go real slow, which is okay 'cause it doesn't go real high either. The cockpit is all McDonnell. It took the the fighter guys in St. Louis to really put the computers and fancy things in the Douglas cockpits. Don Douglas was great at building incredibly strong airplanes, but there was nothing elegant about the drivers' station. And finally, of course, the airplane was born as the MD-95 but now carries a Boeing designation and data plate.
Lest anyone get the wrong idea, I love flying it. It's not as elegant as my beloved 757/767, but it is like a little sports car. It has its quirks: the sliding windows still leak sometimes, the autopilot/FMC does some odd things once in a while, the VIAs can be tricky when you wake the airplane from cold and dark. But overall...it's a great jet.
Which is nice because the rumor is that Delta will acquire 18 or so more from Volotea which is transitioning to Airbus 319s.

Andrew,
I wasn't really speaking exclusively where the 717 was built (although the choice of production cities, I think, has a pretty nice ring to it for the accomplishment). I was really trying to make the opening salvo for an argument that Jim very aptly made.

How about the 717 Mutt Club??? And only the 717 counts?
Actually, I like the idea of sticking it in both the Everett and Long Beach clubs. I think I'll do that. Thanks for your input Kyle. I'm working on a few more right now.
Glad you're enjoying them so far. I just realized with one club I'm only 11 flights away from reaching it so its given me new closer goals to strive for.

I hope this is true. Love seeing all the baby-Long Beach Sewer Pipes around Atlanta, and enjoy the rare occasion when they stop into ORF. Could you please get me an MD-88 or even a 90, though? All have been replaced by the 319/320 the last few times I have checked. love the T-tail and ability to set off car alarms under the approach path!

I have to admit, with all the 727 flights I have done, I am kind of shocked that I don't have the Everett club already, lol.
I guess I have some more flights on Mr. Boeing and Mr. Douglas now.
