I loaded FSX - Deluxe Edition on my CPU the other day and then loaded a few aircraft from DVA.org to start learning the new version. I have been on FS9 since 2004. As I opened the aircraft within FSX - I received messages for what seemed like every single file that had been loaded that it was from an untrusted publisher and did I want to continue? I started clicking "Yes" for each individual file and quickly realized it was an exercise in futility. Then when I tried to open another native FSX aircraft within the sim...it crashed the entire thing and brought me back to my desktop as if the sim was shut down. After a few times of this...I simply uninstalled FSX completely from my machine. I'm all ears with respect to advice. It would seem by now that after all of this time since FSX has been out that our installers should work seamlessly. I welcome thoughts and suggestions. Thanks in advance.

It may seem that way, but it's not. The 757 and 767 are the worst in that they have a lot of gauges, but once you go through all 80, then you should be good to go.

It would seem by now that after all of this time since FSX has been out that our installers should work seamlessly. I welcome thoughts and suggestions.


It's not an installer problem - it's the gauges themselves. Since they are actually DLLs, Microsoft added a signature check to FSX to validate their publishers - a check no one in the freeware world bothered to go through since a code signing certificate costs several hundred dollars a year. (It's why I've never bothered buying one and signing the gauges.)

If it really bothers you, I believe FSX:SE has dropped this requirement, as has P3D.

OK - thanks for letting me know. I will reinstall FSX and go from there. Is FSX:SE that much better as a version? With Deluxe edition do I have an automatic upgrade or do I still have to pay the $89 to get it (FSX: SE).
