Just decided to finally fly online again after my re-install of everything FS and ran into this problem when attempting to Launch Inn Control Panel from the Add-ons -> FSCopilot menu option.
Has anyone ever experience anything like this? It was working fine in January but no longer.
Thanks,
C. T. Blankenship

Haven't seen it myself but lots of Google results on this one. Looking at this less than one minute, two fixes apply to Windows Vista (is this you?) and disabling UAC in Windows.

Yes, I Googled this error before posting here but thanks for following up as you may have found something I didn't.
Notice that in the attached image that the control panel is started just fine ... it simply doesn't show up on the monitor.

Oh ... and the following are true:
1. Running Windows 7 Pro 64bit
2. UAC is set to Never Notify
3. AV is set to allow full access to the FS programs
Stumped and grounded in NC ...

Charles,
Can you provide some details on how you start up FSX. What airplane do you load up with, etc.
Try starting up with a default/stock airplane. Then launch FSInn Control Panel from the Add-ons menu.
Once it has started up and the FSInn control panel is fully visible (there's sometimes a short delay before all of the buttons/hot spots and text are displayed in the Control Panel ), then change to the airplane you wish to fly.

Found the problem ... all I had to do was set the FSX.EXE file to Run as Administrator.
Silly boy ... that's a basic noob error.
Thanks,

I was wrong ... setting the fsx.exe to Run as Administrator did not solve the problem ... persistently anyway.
Scott, the process you provided works wonderfully, thank you. But I never had to do this in the past so I'm trying to figure out why.

Charles,
I recently updated my FSX box with all the MS updates.
I can't say if that's what did it (.NET and/or OCX updates/patches maybe), but now I can load up with the PMDG NGX and launch FSInn with no errors.
I do go to the 2D panel before I launch it. Someone suggested that a while ago when I asked for suggestions in the ACARS chat.
BTW, I'm running FSX-SE on a Win7x64, Intel/nVidia box. No Anti-virus installed. All the typical add-ons
It's an ongoing battle but, for me, worth the extra hassle because I really like all the extra features provided by FSInn vs vPilot.
Let me know if you want to know any other specifics of my install. We can start an email conversation.

Here is something that piqued my interest.
I started with the advice on this thread; however, all I had to do was launch the AirCreation Trike Ultralight (omitting the launch of Inn Control Panel).
End that flight
Load the 737-800NGX and launch Inn Control Panel ... no problem after that ... load trike ... end flight ... load 737-800NGX ... launch Inn Control Panel.
Go figure ... this also happens with the PMDG 777.
I have a support ticket lodged with them ... I'll keep the thread updated.

That's similar to what I was doing. I would load the Beech Baron, launch FSInn CP, Load 737-800NGX. I didn't have to 'end flight'

I always load the default Cessna flight first before selecting an airport and aircraft in fs2004 and fsx. It gets things rolling more smoothly.
