Those flight are usually past my bed time.
Actually, when I'm grabbing flights to add I get the first one on the list and often these are in the morning since they're chronological. At least you can fly at any time of the day you want here.
Actually, if you look at the real world airline schedules, there is definitely a pattern that suits when most travellers like to fly. West Coast US to East coast are often re-eye flights leaving at 9 or 11pm and arriving in the afternoon. Opposite direction flights leave throughout the day to get there in time to turn around and fly back, or to make a connection for further flights west to HI or across the Pacific. Most eastern US flights that go east to Europe leave in the early evening as a red-eye so that they can be turned around and head back to the US late morning for a mid-afternoon arrival on the east coast. The majority of international flights here in CLT are AM flights to the Caribbean with afternoon returns, and early afternoon arrival is when the heavies from Europe arrive, departing in the evening back east. A lot of fairly large airports like Charlotte do not not have any departures or arrivals between 1130PM and 530AM local time. Who really wants to fly or pilot an aircraft through the night if they can help it (or unless they're FEDEX or UPS)?????
Just my 2 cents on what I've observed. I'm sure real world pilots here can weigh in with better more in-depth info.

Awesome,
Yeah I saw some RW delta flights a while ago that were "red eye" flights. I was wondering about that. I'm about to do my second transatlantic flight right now.
