I recently came back from a leave of absence, and I am now on a new computer running FSX Steam Edition. When I run FSX, I get an error stating the following:
"Flight Simulator has detected a problem with a third-party software program (add-on):
Name: FSUIPC4 DLL: FS new universal IPC interface
Version: 4.956
Company: Peter L. Dowson
File: Modules\Fsuipc4.dll
Do you want to run this software (not recommended)?
To avoid seeing this message in the future, uninstall this program or disable its ability to start when running Flight Simulator. For more information about third-party programs, contact the publisher or see http:\www.fsinsider.com."
I am then given the choice to click "Yes" or "No". If I click "Yes", FSX closes immediately and entirely. If I click "No", FSX loads normally.
So now, I set up my flight in FSX, hit "Fly Now!", allow it to load, and then once it's loaded and I'm in, I open up ACARS. I get the following messages in green:
"DVA ACARS version 3.2 (Build 117) started
Detected FSUIPC Bridge to MSFS/Prepar3D"
Immediately followed by this in red:
"Maybe running on WideClient, but FS not running on Server, or wrong FSUIPC"
I can connect okay, but when I hit "Start Flight", I get the folowing pop-up:
"MSFS/Prepar3D is not ready to fly. Please start MSFS/Prepar3D and load your aircaft."
I also get the following message in ACARS in red:
"Maybe running on WideClient, but FS not running on Server, or wrong FSUIPC"
As well as this in orange:
"Not Connected"
As a result of all this, I am not able to run ACARS during my flights. I flew a flight last night and filed a non-ACARS flight report, but obviously those don't count towards advancement and all, so I need to resolve this issue. The only "solution" I could find online was to "Keep clicking 'Yes' until FSX loads, and then it will work from then on." However, after clicking Yes what seems like a hundred times, still nothing.
Does anyone have a working workaround and/or solution? I'd appreciate the help!

Reinstall FSUIPC. That problem has happened to me before and reinstallation fixed everything.

Not sure if it will help but run DVAs registry fixer. Plus most of the fleet installers contain a version of FSUIPC.

Thank you for the suggestions. I deleted the FSUIPC files from my Modules folder within FSX, and reinstalled FSUIPC from http://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html
I also downloaded and exectuted the DVA registry fixer.
However, neither of these attempts managed to fix the problem. Still getting that error message, and clicking "Yes" still crashes FSX. Any other possible solutions or workarounds would be very helpful!

Thomas,
Not sure if you did this yet:
Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\FSX\SDK\Core Utilities Kit\SimConnect SDK\LegacyInterfaces. You will see three folders (FSX-RTM, FSX-SP1, and FSX-XPACK). Each of these folders contain installers. You need to open each folder and run the installers.

If you click "Yes", is there an FSUIPC4.LOG file in your modules folder?
Cheers!

Most likely, FSX crashed and Windows (incorrectly) blames FSUIPC. Please re-run the FSUIPC installer - you can get it from here: https://www.schiratti.com/dowson.html
Cheers!
