Just wanted to provide a word on DVA pilots being a member of other virtual airlines. As you know, there are many out there and DVA does not require members to be only a member of DVA and none others. On the contrary, we love that our pilots have the freedom to fly for other VA's and be a further positive representative of DVA with other VA's, especially in public on VATSIM. Our rules are few here and I hope pretty clear.
We have become aware that some DVA pilots who fly for other VA's may have gotten into the habit of logging the same flight for multiple VA's at the same time. Many other VA's have policies against this. We do not yet have a formal policy but this practice is certainly frowned upon. While we allow pilots the freedom to fly for other VA's, their attention and flight logging should be for the VA in which they are flying, not more than one at a time.
I want to advise all pilots that they should log a specific flight for only one VA at a time. A real world pilot wouldn't get paid by multiple airlines for the same flight. Staff does not have time or interest in policing this policy but I can let you know we're aware that its going on and may be growing. These practices also aren't beneficial to advancing one's career here. Cutting corners or trying to pad numbers is only selling oneself short in enjoyment. As I said in the past, you get out of this airline what you put into it. Its my hope also that our primary attention will be on growing our own virtual aviation careers.
A future edit to the Pilot Manual will more adequately address this guideline. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to email Senior Staff.
Thanks for your attention. We're all here to have fun and enjoy this hobby together. See you in the virtual skies!
