Did a shakeout flight with ACARS Build 120 Beta 5 and the PMDG777 in P3Dv4. Graphics are pretty stunning and the frame rates are great to acceptable in most situations - I think I have the autogen a little too high.
FSDT JFK and ZRH, PMDG777, AS16. Running on a i7-4770K at 4Ghz with an 8GB 1070.
Cheers!

What were the framerates at the airports and what airport scenery do you have loaded?
I ask because I have an i4770K@4.5GH with a GTX780 video card and the FSDreamTeam Charlotte/Douglas drops my framerates to around 13 to 15 ... running the PMDG 737-800 NGX.
I'm wondering if I should switch to P3Dv4 and give up on FSX Acceleration.

You should be able to check by viewing my logbook and downloading the CSV data from the flight. In most cases it's 15-25 fps at the airports; certainly fast enough most of the time that I'm not complaining.

You should definitely get better performance on P3D, but purchasing the PMDG again isn't going to be fun. At least the FDST sceneries are free from FSX to p3D.
Cheers!

AMAZING. I think my wife would kill me if I spent what I have on FSX SE again!!! Too bad FSW doesn't have what P3D has!

Does anyone have any tips on installation of V4? For example, I have V3.4 I plan to clear everything off my computer of version 3.4 before downloading V4. Should I clear all addon's and reinstall them as well? I'm actually thinking of doing a reformat on my Flight simulator drive to have a nice clean slate.
Any comments?

Luke, is there a special way to make ACRS recognize V4, or em I missing something? It won't recognize it right now...

Beautiful and hope you enjoyed Luke!
For me what started out last weekend as an experiment with P3D v4 has quickly transitioned into a full blown commitment and a lot of joy this past week. Coming from FSX, P3D v4 is amazing and breathes new life into flight simulation. I'm running on my older 4 year old rig, going from memory here Intel core i7 (3770k?) overclocked to about 4GHz, MSI GeForce 660Ti, 16GB RAM, Windows 7. Getting 25-60 FPS depending on view and location. Add on airports like FB KFSO, JFK, etc. which used to make FSX crawl at 7-10 FPS, P3D v4 runs so much smoother. Best and probably most important of all, OOMs are gone (keeping my fingers crossed). It's not a cheap transition (what hobby is?), but for the amount of time spent and enjoyment I get out of flight simulation and the community, the dollar stretches very far.
Don't get me wrong, FSX was great and accomplished far more than what should have been asked from it. Very appreciative of the years I spent on that platform, but also glad to shed all of the baggage it had.

I am using P3Dv4 with the Aerosoft CRJ, all the visuals maxed out, ASN, Rex soft clouds, stock airports. I never realized there was a difference in frame rates when comparing the cockpit views to the outside views. Up at altitude outside i can get about 70fps. At the same location but inside it drops to about 46. Then on final to an airfield it drops to about 36. Is the frame rate in ACARS an average? Do you like the FSDT P3Dv4 airfields?
