Hi all,
I just recently joined Delta VA and have been very much enjoying the learning process so far. I tested into the B737 program and have flown a few flights with the fantastic X-Plane 11 738 Zibo mod, but I'm thinking I may want to step down to a lower level to propliners and regional jets just for the sake of a more realistic learning curve. The add-on I'm thinking about is FlyJSim's Q400 as that is the most detailed propliner/regional jet that's in our fleet and also available for X-Plane. JRollon's CRJ seems pretty nice, but is also a bit outdated and is supposedly going to be upgraded to V2 in the near future. That does leave me with a question though. It doesn't seem like Delta ever operated Q400's, and seeing as how I'm usually going to be flying on the east coast under DVA I'm unsure if it's alright to fly the majority of those true Delta flights with a Q400. From what I've read it doesn't seem like it will be an issue, but I just wanted to make sure.

Thanks, Yisrael! I'm starting to get a much better understanding of the operations. My main concern now is that my main simulator is the less supported X-Plane 11, so it seems like my ability to move around in programs may be pretty limited. I'm tempted to move down into the EMB-120 program or over to the MD-88 program, but I don't really know if that's possible as there aren't currently any checkride provisions for the existing MD-88's in X-Plane 11, and I'm not even sure that there's an EMB-120 available. Which brings up another question. Can you do check rides for type ratings in one of the similarly rated aircraft for the type (EMB-120 to Q400 for example), or does it have to be in the exact type that the main rating is for?
Also, should I perhaps direct these XP-11 based questions over to the X-Plane forum to see if we can make some progress on getting ratings in X-Plane? I'd be happy to do what I can to gather data, but I have very little knowledge on the software side of things so I don't know that I could be of much help there.
