After some good questions from pilots, we have made some minor modifications to the Pilot's Manual and it has been reissued in the Document Library. Mainly the changes have to do with aircraft types that count towards promotion. Our system and ACARS track flights as counting toward promotion to include only the primary aircraft from which the pilot is a part. It does not include secondary aircraft. The Pilot's Manual was not clear on this so it has been edited accordingly.
For example, a pilot in the Mighty 727 program would have flights count towards promotion in the 727-100 and 727-200. All the secondary aircraft such as the E120 would not count towards promotion in that program, not would primary aircraft from another program like the CRJ-200.
Hopefully this clarifies our guideline. Keep in mind that ACARS does not always capture a flight as counting towards promotion and there have been some pilots who have encountered these issues periodically. If you have any question about your flight counting towards promotion, please feel free to open a help desk issue, link the flight report, and one of us in Operations will respond as fast as we can.
The Pilot's manual is our best source of information on how we operate as a virtual airline containing the answers to about 99% of the questions we get here. As always, we are not perfect and always seeking to improve our library and we welcome comments and corrections.
