For FSX Acceleration
Hello everyone
I'm having issues with the addon AFCAD files that want to also use the JFK jetway extensions. Most are by Ray Smith (who I've emailed but have not got a response). The problem I'm having is aside from KJFK, the extensions do not show up anywhere else. I followed the instructions that come with the AFCAD files:
2. There are jetway extensions added, and to see these you need to add the textures for them, please follow these steps:
NOTE: If you have already done this with any of my other airports then this step is not necessary.
"Browse" to the Flight Simulator X\Scenery\NAME\Texture folder: Scroll down the list until you see these 2 textures:
jfk_jetway.dds.
jfk_jetway_LM.dds.
"COPY" these textures from that folder and "PASTE" them into the Scenery\Global\Texture folder, even the Addon Scenery/texture folder should also work.
Please make sure you have "COPIED" the right textures into one of the texture folders
I also read somewhere in another forum they needed to be placed in the Addon Scenery/Texture file so i tried putting them there with no luck. On ADE, they show up and my scenery complexity slider is above the minimum for them to show per ADE (hover mouse over object it tells you at what point and higher they show). I added NewYork.bgl to ADE Library Object Manager and still they don't show.
This is happening for all airports that want to use jetway extensions with the exception of KJFK where they do show up.
Anyone got any ideas? It's annoying to see jetways detached from the buildings
http://prntscr.com/hfpmhn (jfk jetway extension search in FSX folder showing the locations of the texture files)
http://prntscr.com/hfpmwi (ZSPD - no jetway extensions showing up but you can see other library objects that do show up from the same AFCAD file (the vans next to the jetways))

Found this thread that offered SOME help, but not a solution. The OP states they found the solution, but of course, did not share the solution. Looks like Ray Smith was on the thread and even he didn't know a solution. he knew the problem, but not a solution.

I used ModelConverterX to open the jetway extensions and saved it both a MDL and BGL, copied the texture files again and created a new add on scenery and added it to FSX and also added it to ADE Library Object Manager (said the file was already in the database).
So if opening and editing the downloaded BGL file deletes(?) the jetway extensions, but they still show on ADE when re-compiled to the same name as downloaded (KATL_UserName.BGL gets compiled back to KATL_UserName.BGL overwriting the original), then how do I get the extensions to show again? The model and textures are there (all over the place now) and I can't get them to show.
