	I hope, but can’t find, if someone who knows more about this than me has posted something about “System Restore”?!? I can’t stress enough the value of System Restore with a Windows-based operating system. You can work around numerous problems with this and sometimes get yourself out of trouble if something got into your computer. For me, something happened with ACARS and my system wouldn’t acknowledge it no matter what I did, no matter what version I loaded from 4.955 right up to 4.972 or better known as Build 116 thru 122. By going back through system restore (a point of time you create) I went back to December 19th when all was working fine. That fixed the ACARS problem when I couldn’t. Windows System Restore https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/17127/windows-back-up-restore#1TC=windows-7 Apple Time Machine https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201250 It’s important to do any scans you can to be sure your computer is free and clear of any problems before creating a restore point. Defrag too. You can also have restore points created automatically at times you designate. This all depends on your OS and computer. I’ll create a restore point every two weeks or so, especially if all is fine. File back-up is always essential, but MS System Restore leaves your downloaded pictures, music, documents etc. alone, just re-tweaks the operating system and registry adjustments. Any thoughts?

	its also good to do a system image backup and have a second harddrive handy to install to. Thats what I did when my main system went down, dead HDD, so installed a new drive and installed base windows, then used restore to install the saved image and back in business.
