Hey, I see on a few people's profiles that there may have used to be a PPL and COMM course.
As a real world pilot I'm interested in the programs. I'd like to go through them and then perhaps help with the Academy as well.
Are those programs still available? All I see as available at the Academy is the 737 ATP course.

I too am interested in these courses as well. Nicholas I do know the staff are working on more Vatsim approves courses. I’m actually excited for these.

The PPL was a former shared cockpit course. It eventually became the self-study P1 course we have. The COMM course was a short-lived step up from the PPL. The problem was that the programmer who offered the software for sharing the cockpit wouldn't sell it, stopped supporting it, and we were all left with no way to share the cockpit in the E120, our training aircraft. We may resurrect these in some form in the future. Many who have these ratings have been here log enough to have gotten them.
The FA is currently focusing on rolling out the P3 course. We are almost there. We were close and then revamped the course to allow offering it in P3d and XP and also brought in additional aircraft. It will be one of its kind when its done.

Well, let me know if I can help out. I'm a P1-P5 instructor at VATSTAR as well. We don't do shared cockpit there, but we watch the students fly using teamviewer or discord.

Hi Nicholas,
just applied to VATSTAR.... I'm interested in the P4-P5 ratings.

Let me know if you need any help figuring out their system. It's pretty simple. Each of those will require 2 checkrides with an instructor monitoring as you fly.

I see the latest Pilot Manual includes the aircraft for the P3/P4 rating (C172SP, B58, King Air). Any clues as to which versions will be supported? I don't have any of these in my P3Dv4 hanger and would hate to miss a holiday sale or worse yet buy the wrong one.
Thanks.
