Hope y'all can help me with a slightly annoying problem.
I can't seem to get my throttle to stay at idle. it is always bouncing around near the bottom. If I hit F1, it will stay there for a bit, but then start bouncing again, below 10%, but it still causes problems with taxi speed and final.
I'm using a Saitek X45, newest drivers and software from them, Win10, P3D-all up to date. Happens with all my airplanes, stock and PMDG.
I have calibrated multiple times, in multiple order to try to clear this. Calibration in P3D, and win10.
I have also set larger and larger dead zones on the throttle input, to no effect.
QUESTION: will the paid version of FSUIPC possibly help with this? I have read that it is very powerful for controlling button inputs, but have never used the pay version to check for calibration help.

Its up to you. for my saitek yoke/throttle, I had to move some of the dead zone sliders almost to 60% to get the hardware to work right.

Exactly what was said above. Gotta mess with the deadzone sliders. There should be a calibration for this.

huh, still having problems. uninstalled all the drivers associated with it, and reinstalled. the throttle movement range is only about 10% usable, basically full on, or full off in 1/2" of travel. at this point, I think it may be a hardware problem.
does anyone use the paid FSUIPC to control their calibration? i'm wondering if it may help (if my throttle is actually putting out decent values, of course).
I may just have to get a X52 to solve this problem. 15 years out of my X45 is not too shabby...

For what it's worth, I recently ran into this as well. I had Saitek gear, the (nearly) original Pro Flight Yoke with Throttle Quadrant from about 10 years ago. About a month ago the throttle started spiking all over. The paid version of FSUIPC does help a bit but I found that having to use such large dead zones and whatnot to overcome the spikes, there wasn't much usable lever travel left. I took it all apart after reviewing some YouTube videos on this exact problem with this exact hardware. Those potentiometers in these throttles are something awful and require cleaning. I went to town with copious amounts of WD-40 and it did help quite a bit. It wasn't perfect and still annoying so I broke down and got myself a Saitek/Logitech X-56 HOTAS to replace it with. It works beautifully so far. Happy with the investment.

Thanks for the reply Gerard. I contemplated tearing mine down also, but decided to just get a new setup. My X45 worked well for a LONG time. I did however jump ship, after reading so many negative reviews about QC on the new Saitek gear. I went with the Thrustmaster 1600M and separate throttle. Both are buttery smooth in all axis, installation was a snap, and i'm excited about having nice resolution again on the throttle! We shall see how long it holds up for!

Yeah I read the same reviews so I took a serious gamble. For me it was a matter of "I have 3 days left of my Christmas vacation, I need something right NOW and I can't wait for delivery" so I got whatever I was able to find locally that afternoon. Here is hoping my need for instant gratification doesn't end up becoming a disappointment. So far I'm happy. If I get a year or two out of it, I'll be happy enough.

I have the exact same "symptoms but my error may not be related to yours. I have had this issue every time I have to reinstall P3D from ver 2 to ver4. I have thrusmaster HOTAS with twin throttles. I used the mapping pages to utilize the left throttle to engine one, then the right throttle to to engine two. Foolishly I forget to look further down the list to the entry where all throttles are mapped to the right throttle thus they all conflict.
